2011 Volkswagen Golf R Concept

The third concept presented by Volkswagen at the W├Ârthersee show is the Golf R Concept. Thia particular Golf comes in two different versions: one is painted in Velvet Grey Metallic and the other in Aplomb Blue. Both feature the same 266 HP 2.0-liter turbo engine found in the Golf R model.

The Velvet Grey Metallic Concept gets contrasting colors in the polished 19-inch "Talladega" alloy wheels, orange painted brake calipers, and carbon mirror caps. The interior gets ergonomic motorsport shell seats wrapped in black Nappa leather combined with anthracite-colored Nappa leather ("Light Anthracite"). The piping on the side sections of the seat and head section bring back the contrasting orange of the brake calipers and tons of carbon fiber is then added for the steering wheel, gear shift lever, and the door sill plates. Black piano paint characterizes the panels behind the inside door handles, the trim of the window controls, and the trim of the gear shift grip.

The "Aplomb Blue" model features 19-inch "Glendale" wheels and carbon mirror caps. The interior gets the same motorsport shell seats in Black Nappa leather, but are combined with blue leather on the lateral and back supports. The package is continued with sport leather steering wheel and different blue decorative seams.

Well, I love the fact that it is so reliable for the road and very practical to use in everyday transportation. Anyway, I love the simple platform of this, and it is very appealing for that.

I love the fact that this SUV concept of Golf R is very practical to use and so ideal as a family vehicle. I am also pretty sure, that it could offer an impressive and comfortable interior! smiley

Despite of having a simple platform and styling, I can say that it is still very appealing for me, and I love the fact that it is so reliable and practical to use in my everyday transportation. smiley

It looks so simple for a concept car, but I must say that I’m impressed with the appeal that it had even though it only had a simple and very common platform design. Well, I just wish that the interior will not disappoint me. smiley

Not so stunning at all, although it has its own simple beauty but not really complemented and blended with its entire package.

For a daily use vehicle, the 50 hp is just enough. And I think its deliver power output is already powerful. I was thinking about what are the other features and specs of the car. This seems to be an awesome vehicle.

Well, I have to say that the styling of Golf is very decent. It’s a great thing as well that it’s an economical vehicle. No wonder, why it was held as the most affordable hatchback of the year.

That is beautiful. It’s subtle like the Golf GTI MkI, but not too subtle that it blends in with everything else.

Here’s hope for a Jetta R in the near future.
