2012 Volkswagen Up GT! Concept

  Review

It’s not rocket science to understand that the Volkswagen Up! Concept is not the poster car for fast cars, seeing as the concept only carries an output of 75 horsepower. What was surprising though was that for all of its capabilities - or lack thereof - Volkswagen has come out with a GT version of the concept that delivers an output of 100 horsepower. Not exactly raging stallions, is it?

In any case, this is what the Volkswagen Up! GT Concept has to offer. Compared to the its standard version brethren, the GT version is a monster on four wheels, at least as far as relativity is concerned.

It carries a turbocharged three-cylinder engine that produces 100 horsepower and 111 lb/ft of torque - a significant improvement from the 75-horsepower output of the standard version - while carrying a 0-60 mph sprint time of nine seconds.

But more than all the numbers, the Up GT! Concept also carries some aesthetic improvements from the standard Up, including a more serious front bumper with LED running lamps, a roof spoiler, twin-chrome exhaust finishers, and a set of 17" wheels as the cherry on top of the proverbial sundae.

This concept deserves lots of compliments! smiley Well, the exterior really looks so good, and it had a powerful engine in spite of having a sweet appearance. I’m just wondering if the interior of this Up GT is impressive also.

It truly looks so classy on its exterior body paint in spite of having only a simple detailing. Well, I hope either that it also had an impressive and comfortable interior feature.

Yeah! I have to agree with cyrus parca and besides it is not a sports car, so it doesn’t really matter if it doesn’t have a powerful engine specification. The important is its practicality.

It’s a turbo charged three-cylinder engine guys. I don’t think that you should feel so doubt on that. I think it was quite good enough for this one. Anyway, I am also very satisfied with this one.

I have a doubt on its engine. I don’t think that it can give a better performance on this one, and I can say that it is absolutely very striking on its decent and hygienic appearance.

It looks so simple and ordinary on its platform and other detailing, but I must say that I still find it very attractive and satisfying. I love the fact that this concept was still very reliable on the road.

The engine is quite impressive for it, I guess. Anyway, just like them, I am also so fond with the cute and unique looks of this Volkswagen Up GT! I just really hope that they put this one on market production.

I would also love to see the interior features of this, if only TopSpeed also includes some pictures of it. Anyway, just like them, I’m so fond with this Up GT!, I hope that they would really put this on a production.
