About the Seventh-Gen Volkswagen Golf

The seventh-generation Golf was unveiled at the 2012 Paris Motor Show, after the sixth-generation was a relative failure for Volkswagen. The new Golf is longer and wider, and features a more aggressive and sporty design language.

Volkswagen also worked on making the car lighter, managing to shave about 220 pounds, which helped in increasing fuel efficiency by about 23 percent.

The new Golf VII is offered with a choice of four engines: an 85-horsepower, 1.2-liter TSI; a 140-horsepower, 1.4-liter TSI; a 105-horsepower, 1.6-liter diesel unit; and a 150-horsepower, 2.0-liter diesel unit.
