Volkswagen Passat Coupe not coming to Geneva
 
Altough there were rumors that Volkswagen will launch the new Passat Coupe at Geneva Motor Show, according to Auto Motor Und Sport it seems that this won’t happen anymore. Volkswagen boss Martin Winterkorn asked Audi’s designer Walter the Silva to review the Passat Coupe’s design and restyle the front of the car before its debut. As a result the Passat Coupe debut will be delayed. At Geneva Motor Show, Volkswagen will unveil the Passat BlueMotion that is said to be cleaner than a Toyota Prius with its three cylinder 1.4 direct injection turbodiesel engine that gives it the ability to do 72.4 mpg. The new Volkswagen Passat BlueMotion is expected to emit 103g/km of CO2 and have a fuel consumption rating of 60.3 mpg. Triple award for Volkswagen
The most successful manufacturer in the RAC What Car? Car of the Year Awards was Volkswagen, which won three categories. The first award went to the Golf which won the "Best Small Family Car". Golf celebrate 20 years of four-wheel drive
Despite a still hesitant start, winter is here. This means of course we can brace ourselves for those strenuous drives at sub-zero temperatures. Faced with ice, snow and generally unpredictable road conditions, a growing number of motorists would like four-wheel drive. However, by no means do all carmakers offer four-wheel drive in their high-volume models. Not so at Volkswagen, where four-wheel drive has now been available in the Golf for 20 years. 2006 Volkswagen Passat
The new generation Passat can now also be ordered with permanent 4MOTION four-wheel drive. It will be available at first with two engines: In the two-litre class, customers can choose between the 2.0l 110 kW/150 hp direct-injection petrol engine or the 2.0l 103 kW/140 hp turbo diesel engine.
