For sport-passionate car owners, Volvo is now offering a once-in-a-lifetime station wagon: the Volvo V70 T6 AWD R-Design by HEICO SPORTIV. The most powerful model ever offered by Volvo in Germany unleashes a staggering 325 bhp (239 kW). The limited special edition of just 100 vehicles will go on sale in summer 2010 and be available exclusively in the color metallic sapphire black.

With a recommended retail price is EUR 70,193.00 (incl. 19% VAT), the special edition Volvo V70 T6 was realized with tuning specialist HEICO SPORTIV, a company with over 20 years’ experience in tuning and improving the performance of exclusive Volvo models and since 2008 official partner of Volvo Car Germany GmbH. Besides its impressive engine performance and extremely sporty handling characteristics, the one-off model captivates with many exclusive interior and exterior design novel-ties.

The new Volvo V70 T6 AWD R-Design by HEICO SPORTIV is based on the series model with the adapted 304 bhp (224 kW) 6-cylinder straight-type turbo gasoline engine from Volvo. The vehicle’s tuning to 325 bhp (239 kW) and a maximum torque of 460 Nm, available in an rpm range of 2,100 to 4,200 min-1, was implemented using HEICO SPORTIV e.motion technology. HEICO SPORTIV e.motion stands for “efficiency in motion” and describes a supplementary engine control unit including enhanced engine management.

Apparently limitless power reserves

Thanks to this technical upgrade, customers benefit from perceptible performance improvement and apparently limit-less power reserves. The Volvo V70 T6 AWD R-Design by HEICO SPORTIV tears from 0 to 100 km/h (62.5 mph) in just 5.9 seconds, reaching a maximum speed of 250 km/h (electronically capped). Average fuel consumption is 10.6 liters per 100 kilometers (preliminary values). For perfect traction on any terrain, the high-performance station wagon is fitted serially with permanent all-wheel drive (AWD). A six-gear automatic gearbox with geartronic function provides for transmission.

HEICO sport suspension and exclusive design elements

The HEICO sport suspension, shock absorbers and springs and 30mm lowering additionally provide for outstanding sporty handling. Besides this, a 19” complete wheel set with 245/35 R19 Pirelli tires is thrown into the bargain to boot. Deliverables also include an original Volvo R-Design 18” wheel set with Pirelli winter tires and other exclusive elements such as the HEICO SPORTIV sport exhaust system and special trunk emblem.

The exclusive interior details with the HEICO SPORTIV logo include the aluminum door pin set and perfectly machined aluminum/leather gear shift knob, as well as an edition plaque for the dashboard. Furthermore, each customer receives a custom-made pouch with a liter of Castrol high performance engine oil.

At the same time, the complete package offers a 20 percent price saving over the individual options (such as the sport suspension), each of which can also be ordered separately.

Extensive R-Design package

The special edition further incorporates the typical R-Design features such as doorsills and bumpers in matching car color, a roof spoiler, also in car color, exterior mirror casing in matt chrome optic, chrome applications for the fog-lamp surround, as well as automatic level control. The exclusive interior fittings include, among others, sport leather upholstery in anthracite with inlaid quartz-beige contours, R-Design aluminum inlays, the multifunctional leather sport steering wheel with silk matt intarsia, sport pedals and blue-background instruments.
