Do you remember the Volvo C70 Inscription unveiled at the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show? Now Volvo->ke188 has applied the same treatment to the XC60->ke3026. The new XC60 Inscription will add an extra luxurious, personal touch to the dynamic XC capability and is now available for order, even though an official public debut won't be made until late June at the 2012 Leipzig Auto Show.

Exterior and Interior

Just like the previous C70 version, the new XC60 Inscription will be all about being a bit more luxurious. It will add a choice of four upholstery options in full semi-aniline leather - Marble White, Toscana Tan, Off-black, and Soft Beige - combined with either an Off-black or Sandstone Beige interior.

Customers can also opt for an Electric Silver exterior color, a charcoal headliner, and a new set of Avior 20'' wheels.

The XC60 Inscription package also includes:

-Headrests front with embroidered Inscription logo.

-Center console armrest in leather with stitching.

-Door panel insert matching color of the upholstery.

-Tread plates with Inscription logo.

-Electrically adjustable lumbar support.

Engine line-up

The new Inscription version can be combined with all of the engine options available for the Volvo XC60. This means customers can choose between a standard 3.2 liter straight-six engine that delivers a total of 240 HP and a peak torque of 236 lbs-ft or a turbocharged 3.0-liter rated at 300 HP and 325 lbs-ft or 325 HP and 354 lbs-ft of torque in the R-Design trim.

Prices

Prices for the new Volvo XC60 Inscription will be announced at a later date.

Competition

The list of competitors for the new XC60 Inscription will be the same as the standard model's: the Acura RDX, the Audi Q5, and the BMW X3->ke255. All of these models come with a high level of luxury. The RDX will enter the 2013 model year with an improved exterior look, as well as a new 3.5-liter V-6 engine that now delivers a total of 273 HP. The Q5 will also be refreshed for the 2013 model year: it will get an updated exterior and interior, but everyone is expecting to see some changes made under the hood.
