Volvo has made a lot of promises recently about concepts->ke169 that will blow us away. The first two versions have done exactly that, and now, ahead of the third one's debut at the Geneva Motor Show->ke228, we're getting a few hints at what's in store for concept number three.

The concept has been billed as the Concept Estate and follows in the work of the Swedish company's first two concept offerings, the Concept Coupe and the Concept XC Coupe. Not much in the way of details yet except for a handful of teaser photos unveiled by a Swedish company called Stutterheim.

If you're not familiar with the brand, Stutterheim is actually a Swedish raincoat maker that's been tasked by Volvo to develop the car cover the Concept Estate will be, shall we say, hiding from before it makes its worldwide debut at the Geneva Motor Show.

Seems to explain why these photos were first seen in the website of Stutterheim; after all, the company is also probably showing off its new Estate Svart car cover, a design that was co-created by Volvo's design time that makes use of "hand-stitched seams on a rubberized cotton fabric in the best quality."

As far as the Concept Estate is concerned, there are a few details peaking out from under that Estate Svart car cover, including the same prominent grille we first saw from the other two concepts. There also appears to be a tailgate-mounted spoiler, a dual exhaust system ,and five-spoke alloy wheels, which are all hardly surprising given the efforts Volvo put to show the world that it's ready to come out and fight for attention.

More details of the Concept Estate are expected to drop when Geneva opens its doors.

Update 02/26/2014: The leaky faucet over at Volvo has officially turned on, and images of the Volvo Concept Estate have made their way online, thanks to the folks over at Jalopnik. You can see the images after the jump.

Exterior

From the leaked images, we can see that Volvo is primed to make a serious run at the luxury estate realm, so BMW and Mercedes had better take note. Those thin headlights. aggressive hood, stylish front apron, integrated tailpipes and flash taillights are all things of beauty. If the next-generation Volvo sedan even remotely looks like this concept, than is is bound to be one of the sexiest on the market.

Unfortunately, all we have to go off of now are these images, but I am sure that Volvo still has plenty to talk about in Geneva.

Interior

Just like the other recent Volvo concepts, the Concept estate is looking damn fine on the inside, and nearly production ready. It lacks any really outrageous items, which means that a lot of the features, like the touchscreen and modern gauges, may make their way into production.

The seats are about the only thing that I highly doubt will make it to production, as they are simply too thin to be comfortable. This is doubly true considering this will be billed as a luxury wagon.

2013 Volvo Concept Coupe

First introduced at the 2013 Frankfurt Auto Show, the Concept Coupe was more than just a concept; it marked the first time we saw Volvo put serious work on showing the world that it can build and design cars that can compete with the BMWs and Audis of the world.

The Concept Coupe's styling was really impressive. It shows a number of important steps in one single image, and gives Volvo ’s semi-independent new company identity a goal at which to strive in the mainstream S60 segment, where the current model is lost in obscurity.

2014 Volvo Concept CX Coupe

The second of the three concepts Volvo has scheduled to release is the Concept XC Coupe. While its more of an actual crossover than it is a coupe, the Concept XC Coupe does follow in the design language first introduced by the Concept Coupe a few months earlier.

Per Volvo’s naming convention, ’XC’ is the prefix used for all things SUV . So, the Concept XC is nothing but a showcase future Volvo SUV designs. And boy did the company make an impressive showcase of it at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show, right down to all the applause and intrigued looks the concept received in its time in the Motor City.
