It looks like Volkswagen was pretty busy this year developing its lineup for the annual Wörthersee Tour in Austria. Alongside a special Golf GTI variant set to finally be uncovered tomorrow when the show begins, the company will also unveil a concept version of the Amarok pickup truck .

Called R-Style, the concept features a pretty aggressive aerodynamic kit, with carbon-fiber front and rear aprons, side skirts, bespoke bumpers and a rear diffuser with dual pipes. Volkswagen has also decided to make the pickup look wider thanks to 60 mm (2.36-inch) wider fenders that hide the new 22-inch wheels painted in a gunmetal shade. The interior received sports seats, dashboard and door panels made of carbon fiber, and a sports steering wheel.

Under the hood, the Amarok features a 3.0-liter turbocharged V-6 diesel engine that delivers a total of 268 horsepower and a peak torque of 442 pound-feet. The engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and sends the power to the all four wheels via a permanent all-wheel-drive system.

While the TT ultra quattro concept will no doubt be the star at Audi ’s stand at the 2013 Wörthersee meeting, the company is also coming with a few other models that also made quite a sensation.

One of them is the Audi A1 updated with a competition kit inspired by the look of the successful Audi R18 e-tron quattro racecar. Of course, do not expect the A1 to look as extreme as the R18, but still, its look has been reinterpreted for the Audi A1, and the competition kit R18 can be ordered in either gray or red.

The new competition kit includes red plus (or optional gray) decals for the body, new front lip and side skirts, a stylish roof spoiler at the rear and a silver sticker. The car sits on special wheels, while the center console also received a matching color trim.

It looks like Volkswagen Group has prepared quite a lineup for this year’s Wörthersee show. Earlier today, we brought you the first details on the Seat Leon Cup Racer , now is time to talk about another concept, this time around it’s from Škoda.

Škoda ’s concept is based on the most recent addition to its lineup: the Rapid . Called Rapid Sport, this new concept sets out to prove the tuning capabilities of the new sedan. The concept is painted in a combination of "Corrida Red" and ’Steel Gray" exterior colors and sits on 19-inch alloy wheels.

Because it’s a "sport" concept, it also receives an aerodynamic kit that adds spoilers and a sporty-looking air intake in the front skirt up, large fenders and massive rocker panels. On the backside, the Škoda gets a large bumper and two integrated tailpipes.

For the interior, Škoda added a sport-type steering wheel, Recaro seats and illuminated door sills.

UPDATE 05/27/13: Skoda has unveiled a fresh batch of photos for the Rapid Sport Concept. Hop on over to the gallery to check them out!

Volkswagen Golf GTI W12

In the past few years Wörthersee expo-show brought us some of the coolest concepts from both Audi and Volkswagen. This year’s show seems to be no exception, as Audi has already announced theTT Ultra Quattro Concept and Volkswagen has just announced that it will unveil a hot concept that will preview a new Golf GTI .

Talking about the new concept, Volkswagen boss Dr Ulrich Hackenberg said that it won’t be as powerful as the Golf GTI W12 Concept we saw at the same show back in 2007, but it will be more realistic.

While he declined to offer any other details on the new concept, it is rumored that it will preview an extreme version of the GTI built to celebrate the model’s 40th anniversary, maybe called Edition 40 GTI? That name holds some water because when the model celebrated its 35th anniversary, VW unveiled the Golf GTI Edition 35 .

If the new model will follow the tradition of the previous model; it will be carry about 25 to 30 more horsepower and will feature a more aggressive body language.

The Volkswagen Golf GTI Black Dynamic is a very special vehicle, not because it’s got serious horsepower under its hood. It’s a special ride because it’s the result of a months-long project by nine Volkswagen apprentices - four young women and five young men - aged 18 to 24.

According to Volkswagen , the ’Apprentice Golf GTI 2012’ was started to give young and up-and-coming designers to put their skills to the test in a real automotive project.

The result is the Golf GTI Black Dynamic, which is making its world debut at the Worthersee GTI meet in Austria.

As part of the revamps given to the vehicle, the apprentices fitted a number of key styling upgrades, including a Deep Black Metallic exterior finish combined with flat anthracite film trim, a matte gray hood with honeycomb decals, LED headlamps, and a new set of black rims.

Meanwhile, the custom features of the interior are all produced by the apprentices themselves. For example, the sport seats have been upholstered in black-and-red Alcantara and leather. They also went and dressed the interior door trim with decorative red seams, visually expressing the two-tone red and black themed interior, while also connecting a 1,800-Watt sound system that comes with nine loudspeakers.

As for the engine, the apprentices opted for a 2.0-liter TSI engine and gave it a new gearbox management and a new oversized exhaust system, thus giving the car an extra 150 horsepower, for a grand total of 360 ponies.

Let it be known that we’ve got nothing but praise for the kids involved in this apprenticeship. Not only did they build something that’s truly a definite head-turner, but they managed to do it with the style, class, and professionalism that’s usually reserved for industry veterans.

Remember the Audi Q3 Jinlong Yufeng Concept that was revealed at the 2012 Beijing Auto Show ? Well, it turns out the German automaker has another Q3 concept SUV in the pipeline: the Red Track Concept.

Taken from its name, the Q3 Red Track Concept has been finished with a fiery piece of Energy Red color, an ironic color choice considering that the concept SUV is being pegged as a winter vehicle. How else do you explain the carbon fiber skis on its roof?

But more than just its supposed purpose, the Q3 Red Track Concept actually looks a whole lot like the Q3 Vail Concept , except that the former has some added aesthetic touches. Either way, the SUV looks all sorts of spicy in that aforementioned Energy Red color.

Too bad there’s been no official indication as to whether the Q3 Red Track Concept is bound for production. Whatever the case may be, expect to see the concept at the 2012 Wörthersee Tour, where it is expected to be one of the front and center models in Audi’s booth.

Any auto show will have its fair share of vehicles; of that much we can be certain. After all, there’s no point in having these shows without the vehicles to come with it. But another important part of any auto show, especially to us men, is the presence of lovely young ladies that add a certain element of pizazz to the proceedings.

The last auto show that took place was the Wörthersee 2011 in Germany a few weeks ago. As you can expect, there were a steady stream of vehicles that were shown off at the event, including but not limited to the 2011 Volkswagen Golf GTI Reifnitz, the 2011 Volkswagen Golf GTI Cabriolet Concept, and the Skoda Fabia RS 2000 Concept.

In addition to these hot new rides, Wörthersee 2011 also had some of the most beautiful and downright sexy ladies any auto show has ever had. And in true fashion of giving all of you what you want, we have a photo gallery of the beautiful ladies at Wörthersee 2011 strutting their assets for us to enjoy.

Check them all out in the gallery provided.
