ONE BIKE FOR ALL REASONS
One motorcycle that can do the work of many: That’s the FZ6’s mission statement and for 2007 we gave it more of the things that make it a great multifunction tool. For 2007, revised fuel-injection mapping means excellent, smooth throttle response and seamless thrust across the powerband. A new aluminum swingarm with redesigned flex characteristics puts power to the pavement while it enhances the light, nimble handling the 410-pound bike is known for. Shiny new paint covers a resculpted fairing that cuts the air more cleanly. A reshaped, more comfortable seat makes it easier for short rider to reach the pavement, and a high-tech instrument panel like the one in the FZ1 keeps track of running information. Finally, four-piston monoblock brake calipers up front clamp a pair of big floating discs for strong stopping power. If you’re a one-bike person, the FZ6 is it.
Group Fuel Injection: A simplified, lightweight 32-bit EFI system feeds the R6S engine a perfect mixture of air and fuel under all conditions, and further refinement for ’07 pays off in super smooth throttle response.
Tuned Exhaust: An undertail system looks and sounds right, and doesn’t get in the way of passengers’ legs or luggage.
Many Roles: Its got a more upright ergonomic layout and great passenger seat for sport-touring comfort. On the other hand, it’s got an injected R6S engine, adjustable suspension, and big radial tires for serious sport riding. It’s up to you.
High-Tech Instruments: New, FZ1 style instrumentation gives you the nod when you turn the key. In addition to the tach and speedo, there’s also a clock, fuel gauge, dual tripmeters, and all the rest of it.
Breaking Power: New, four-piston monoblock calipers up front provide big-time braking power and feel, while lightweight five-spoke wheels keep the unsprung weight down.
Great Looks: Shiny new paint on a resculpted fairing, a beautiful new aluminum swingarm and passenger pegs, alumite-finished fork tubes — the new FZ6 looks almost as sweet as it rides.
