In all honesty, why wouldn’t you drive your 458 Italia Challenge around the streets of Italy? How else are you going to get it to Ferrari’s test track?
This video shows the production class racer, cruising the streets of Italy on its way to the Ferrari track. For those who are unfamiliar with the Italia Challenge, it is your standard 458 Italia, but race ready. It has the same 4497cc V8 engine delivering 570 hp at 9,000 rpm. The differences come from the suspension, F1-Trac System, retuned gear ratios, less weight and center lock wheels. This video, posted on ’s channel Marchettino, is a 5:00 minute ride along with this race ready machine.
As pretty as the Italia is, I am not a fan of the “for race” decorations adorning the hood and doors. That being said, I could get past it if I really, really tried. Obnoxious stickers aside, I came for the sound. Start up, perfect. Low-revs, perfect. Puttering around town, akin to the noise a caged tiger makes when it just wants out. On track, mind blowing.
This is not technically news. It is, however, awesome. Enjoy.
