| Nissan Skyline GT-Rs at the 2009 SEMA Show
Are you very, very young? The GT-R’s 0-60 time of 3.3 was reported by a magazine; Nissan posts its time as 3.5, which is tested with one driver. The LFA’s 3.6 second time (gee, a 5 mph difference in top speed isn’t important but a 1/10 sec difference in 0-60 is, huh?) was tested by Lexus with two passengers, so if you’re going to compare apples to apple here the LFA is faster to 60. But that doesn’t matter too much, anyway, as you need to stop basing your knowledge on video game laps and realize that 0-60 isn’t all that matters on a track. And the LFA’s much higher price than the GT-R is not due to its higher top speed, as any intelligent person knows that top speed is not all that matters in a car. The LFA is the fastest nurburgring car in the world and a luxury cruiser at the same time, combining the performance of McLaren, the luxury of Aston Martin, the exclusivity of Bugatti and the reliability of Toyota, while the Nissan is a budget supercar for four. They are completely different types of automobiles, and just because they are both fast does not make them comparable. And as for the Koe segg’s higher top speed than the LFA, show me one track in the world (VW’s private test facility not withstanding) where you will actually hit 200 mph during a lap, let alone 250. And as for you’re statement that the CCXR was developed with top speed as a primary goal doesn’t mean that that’s all it’s good for - the hardly race-dependable R35 which you love so much was developed with the sole purpose of beating the 911 turbo, and even a Nissan-hater like me can see that it can accomplish much more than that. The CCXR was up until now the greatest supercar out there, and the LFA is the only car that can compete with it in terms of performance and luxury as far as I’m concerned. Oh, and about you’re abnoxious fuel efficiency comment, if you would have actually bothered to read my comment you would realize that I was comparing the Supra and the R34 - not the LFA and the R35. react... |
