This is good but there is also a second generation EVO pumping 1200hp at the flywheel and 1000hp at all wheels.

The Lancer by the way is just another midship sedan, the Lancer Evolution is the racing version.

And yeah, we have turbos but you have extra cylinders. Yeah we have intercoolers but then the four cylinders are doing the work of your eight cylinders.And weight reduction- every car does that in almost any race. I don’t think you will find weight reduced cars on the streets though because that means they are basiaclly stripped of all luxury. If that was the case, I’d be driving a sixties mustang, in which case the only luxury is the seats.

And put 400hp on an EVO an it will outrun any of your mustangs delivering a quarter of hp more than that of the EVO. Hell, the FQ 400 will be posing a serious threat against the new ZR1. The 1/4 mile and 0to60 of both cars is about the same.

And yeah, you can throw prochargers on GTO’s but you won’t get the best performance unless you do the cam timing and all the minor stuff, which will cost a fair bit. And most of these four cylinders go aroud the same price of normal mustangs.

I wouldn’t mind having one of these. Of course I wouldn’t be slapping on candy paint on this car. Instead, I’ll do a few mods, pack some serious power and drive this car Transporter style.

Well said but the sad reality is that the higher price tag makes a car more appealing, and well, you can see how well Ferrari and the other expensive cars do.I read somewhere that it will have a 100 grand plus pricetag.

I think they should make the price tag even higher and make it more exclusive. Hell, I ain’t buyng it, so go ahead, make as money as you can.

Don’t know about the fuel but the tyres were slicks with huge wheels at the back so that also helped.

Actually the speed is directly proportional to the rotation of the wheels so the traction is not really an excuse for the 0to60. But I can see it being a problem on the 1/4 mile. Rear wheels are fun. I wouldn’t mind owning a 350Z or the Silvia.

I know that but the point here is that this car goes around for somewhere near the same price as an EVO or a WRX. Now you could have this delivering 600hp which will be just enough to stop you from being busted by emissions laws in most countries. On the other hand you could have a WRX or an EVO delivering 400hp and it will beat the 600hp GTO anyday in any condition, the 0to60, 1/4 mile or a track race.
