I have the 2010 NT700V Red non ABS one, I am the 2nd Owner. I travel from Hollister (California) to Los Angeles once a month, I get 59Mpg round trip 700 miles. I tested between fill ups. Average speed 70-80 Mph easy riding. I have the1996 PC 800, also have 1995 BMW R1100 RS, Earlier I had 2004 BMW R1150RT, and 1995 Kawasaki Concours 1000. looks like the NT700 is going to stay with me for a long time. Important things I like are very light handling specialy in the cities, Fuel economy, Shaftdrive and reliabiliy of Honda. Fast accelerating than the PC800. Next year I may ship this Bike to Europe and make a travell to India through middle east on this one.

The exhaust sounds good - alot like my Fiat 500 Abarth, though not as loud Really hope it drives as well as it sounds and looks. Any idea when it might be released to the media for test drives?

I am looking to replace my 10-year old Honda Deauville (NT650V) with a similar size touring bike that has ABS. The BMW F 800 GT seemed to tick the boxes for an affordable, low weight, comfortable and under 1000cc touring bike, which didn’t have a high maintenance chain drive. So I had a test ride and was impressed with the power, rider and ion seat comfort, optional detachable panniers, instrumentation and the re-assurance of having ABS. However I would like to see a lower 1st gear for riding in slow traffic, a higher screen to direct the air over my helmet, a top box to hold 2 helmets, and higher handlebars to take the weight off my wrists.

Look, the 914 was built by Volkswagen! Porsche designed the car but there weren’t any Porsche parts in it..... because it was built by VW. I owned a 1974 model (bought used in late 1976). It had the VW 1.8 liter flat-4 engine (used in the VW truck/bus). It was a great car. Lot’s of trunk space with the front trunk and the back trunk too. When you took off the fiberglass roof panel it fit in the in the rear where it mounted on rubber bushings that held it over anything in the rear trunk. The engine access was pretty small as it was a panel behind the rear engine and in front of therear trunk, but you could get to the engine from the bottom very easily.

Wanted to buy one of these. Talked to the Honda dealer in Jan. Bike came in in March. Went down and took a look at it. Black engine, why a black engine, all the pictures on the web show a silver engine like the CB750’s. Needless to say I didn’t buy it. Sorry Honda, why show the public one thing and try to sell the public another? Two thumbs down!

Just my 2 cents worth; but the Classic and all the other 1700’s are not water cooled on the cylinders. Just a small portion in the head is water. The jugs are air cooled. Also, the tuning is totally different from the Classic to the Nomad and Vaquero. The Classic gets it down low and the others are tuned for higher RPM torque and HP. I have a 2009 Classic and love it.
