Seat does not sell cars in the U.S., nor is the Ibiza usually something to get excited about, but they occasionally make good commercials. Watch as the Spanish Volkswagen-on-a-budget people have a little fun with its factory race team. Bonus: the girl is Christina Sure, another racer from Seat’s German touring car series.
The second Ibiza version launched this week by Seat is Ecomotive, the most ecological car of its segment (CO2 emission is just 99 g/km). Official debut will be made at the Paris Auto Show.
Available in both the 5-door and SportCoupé versions, the Ibiza Ecomotive is equipped with a three cylinder 80 hp 1.4 TDI with DPF particulate filter which not only allows the engine to reduce emissions under the 100 g/km mark, but also reduces fuel consumption.
Seat revealed today new image gallery of the newly launched Ibiza SportCoupe that will make its world debut at the London Motor Show in July.
The Ibiza SportCoupe will be powered by 105 hp 1.6 liter engine mated by the new seven-speed DSG gearbox. This new, twin-clutch automatic transmission provides the Ibiza with greater acceleration. Besides, this system produces remarkable fuel consumption, since the seventh gear is ideal for long motoring trips.
Recently launched, the new generation of the Seat Ibiza is the new highlight of the tuners. After JE Design, H&R hurried to offer the newcomer a new set of sports springs in order to make the car handle better on all type of roads. The new level of customization from H&R consists in lowering the car with 40 mm. This modification not only makes the car look better, it also improves the dynamics of the vehicle. And, as you know all parts come with TÜV certification as standard.

As we told you we came back with the official information regarding the JE Design tuning kit for the new generation of the Seat Ibiza. The new car that will be officially unveiled on 14th of June will feature a new sports spring system lowering the car with 35 mm as well as some ECU tweaking for the 1.9 TDI engine pushing it to 130 hp. Also new wing doors will be available as well as a complete wheels set in 17 an 18” diameter.
JE Desing unveiled the new tuning kit for the new generation of the Seat Ibiza. Composed from a front lip spoiler, new side sills and a rear apron featuring a carbon fiber air diffuser the kit offers a plus of sportivity to the fresh design of the car. The vehicle features also 17” and 18” alloy as well as a new suspension kit which lowers it up to 35 mm.
Due to the fact that the car has been recently launched the kit is still under construction and, according to the tuning company, the full kit will feature a wing door system, as well as some ECU tweaking pushing the 1.4 liter TDI engine up to 105 hp and the 1.9 liter TDI to 130 hp.

The newly-launched Ibiza will be available with a new Sport Package. The price of the new package is 3500 euro.
The Ibiza Sport Pack will feature re-designed front bumper, new side skirts, re-designed rear bumper with integrated central exhaust pipes and a rear roof spoiler. The car will sit on 17" alloy wheels.
On the interior there will be a sport steering wheel, aluminum sport pedals, sport gear knob and door panels featuring aluminum insertions.
The new SEAT Ibiza received an excellent rating after the stringent crash tests organised by the prestigious Euro NCAP organisation – 5 stars in passenger protection, 4 stars in child safety and 3 stars in pedestrian protection. Officially released today, this result places the Spanish model in a privileged position, scoring it as one of the safest cars of its segment.
The 85 hp SEAT Ibiza 1.4 16V Reference was chosen for the tests. Since the equipment level is different in every country, Euro NCAP selects the unit with the minimum level of standard safety equipment for its testing.
For the purpose of the test, the new SEAT Ibiza unit features driver and passenger airbag, head-thorax sidebag, ABS, TCS + EBA, electric front seatbelts + load limiter, three-point rear seatbelts, fasten seatbelt warning light and beeper and rear window seat Isofix anchoring points.
Seat will unveil the three-door version of the newly launched Ibiza in July at the London Motor Show. And here are the first spy pictures! The car will carry the same "Sport-Coupe" label as the Bocanegra Concept, but wil be only for marketing purpose.
Seat will also unveil the top-of-the-range FR and Cupra models. Those two versions are supposed to be powered by a turbocharged 1.4-liter engine and will go on sale in 2009.

The new Ibiza is dashingly youthful and features outstanding dynamic qualities thanks to the new Volkswagen Group platform which has been designed for this segment. This new development heightens the allure of SEAT’s new model and combines with the new “Arrow Design” concept, featuring simpler, more powerful geometric lines that lend balanced aesthetics to the new SEAT Ibiza.
The initial engine range includes three petrol versions (70 hp 1.2; 85 hp 1.4 and 105 hp 1.6) and one Diesel engine (105 hp 1.9 TDI) equipped with the DPF particulate filter, although the range will soon expand to include the 80 hp 1.4 TDI and 90 hp 1.9 TDI versions. All of the engines are mated to a five-speed manual gearbox and feature outstandingly low CO2 emissions, of less than 160 g/km on the petrol versions and less than 120 g/km on the Diesel models.
