Deus Ex Machina's Sacred Cow bobber

Turning a veritable roadster such as the Kawasaki W650 into a unique hardtail chopper can prove very challenging as builders must sacrifice comfort for style and it is this precise case that we’re witnessing here with the Deus Sacred Cow bobber.

We happen to like this Deus Ex Machina creation very much and we have come to find that it was built according to the strict requirements of New York motorcyclist and motorcycle design company owner Billy Joel, who has considered a hardtail frame kit, 21" front wheel, spring-mounted saddle, handmade tank and cleaned up looks as being the most appropriate means of transformation.

Because good looks must always be backed by engine performance, this custom bike’s parallel-twin gets a 720cc big bore kit. Also considering the weight loss, the Deus Sacred Cow bobber should be significantly zippier than the stock bike. This is what the happy Brooklyn customer eagerly waits to find out as the bike is on its way towards him as we speak. Unique ideas keep custom motorcycle builders such as Copenhagen-based Wrenchmokees apart from the crowd and while the company has tricked out Kawasakis Z 750 B before, they haven’t done a better job than this one right here. And the best part about it is that they only needed to put their signature on that rusted fuel tank and initiate a new approach towards corrosion, somehow make it fashionable.

It may sound crazy, especially because this is not a rat bike, but we cannot say it is ugly. The WM customization process mainly consists in rebuilding a bike’s old engine, painting it in heat resistant paint, changing the exhaust and bringing in performance air filters, while the chassis is modified for a sportier look and different parts made in-house are added.

The bike gets all that, but the one and only part that caught our attention is that rusted gas tank. For instance, they also offer a candy metal flake version, which we cannot like as much. Oh, by the way, rusted parts make any motorcycle a “work in progress,” so let’s hope the owner will still have a tank to put gas in after several years.

Honda’s continuously expanding line of cruisers now features a rather interesting model called the Stateline. Although part of the 1300 Custom segment, this bike displays deeply valanced fenders that indicate Honda’s loyalty to the classic retro style, while the 1312cc, fuel-injected V-twin engine is all about offering loads of torque and decent horsepower, which is precisely what bikers demand from bikes in this category. Honda has recently launched a completely new line of 1300cc cruisers that they call the 1300 Custom Line. This comes as an effect of the Fury chopper having caught up to the public and a simple look at the all-new Sabre is enough for anyone to spot the resemblance. Blending Pro Street styling with the benefits of a fuel-injected 1312cc, 52º V-twin engine, the 2010 Honda Sabre has all the credentials to turn into a success. When the team at Southsiders in France got their hands on a Triton they let their imagination run wild and started designing the bike from scratch. Batman, Catwoman and what appears to be a fossilized Tyrannosaurus.rex claw were the inspiration sources for the CP Project One, which is actually built around a featherbed frame with a Triumph 750 twin.

We love what Frank Charriaut, Vincent Prat and builder Daniel Delfour ended up transforming the bike into: a café racer with Hollywood and prehistoric inspirations, no front brakes and fat Coker tires. And we were just about to say that we haven’t seen an original café racer lately…

This Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade streetfighter is the latest and very eye-catching creation to be ridden in style out of the LA shop of custom motorcycle builder and former 250GP racer Roland Sands. The bike has undergone a rather unusual transformation for the supersport category and we can now call it a veritable naked as the full fairing was entirely removed and the top custom motorcycle builder brought in a 2006 Honda Hornet 600 headlight and cowl, while the clip-on handlebars are now replaced by wide, flat ones. It’s good that at least Sands kept the Fireblade’s original fuel tank, seat and rear section, although the standard number plate holder has been removed.

As you can see, this is not the kind of project you invest a lot of money in, but it has to have its fair share of performance parts and accessories, so a Vance and Hines CS One full exhaust system, and Performance Machine wheels, brake calipers, levers and crash bobbins do the trick just fine.

Tuned for charity, the Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade streetfighter only needed the magic finishing touch of the custom satin gold/yellow paintjob in order to blink an eye at the enthusiastic future owner.

Custom Yamaha motorcycle gets WW2 plane sidecar

We just came across the recent creation of Hungarian bike Builder Henrik Toth and simply had to share it with you. There’s not much to say about it apart from the fact that the actual bike is a Yamaha Wild Star, while the sidecar is inspired by the German Messerschmitt fighter plane from WW2. Everything has been put together by hand and, looking at the American logo on the rear stabilizer, we’re guessing this is also a reconciliation symbol. Great work!

As hard to believe as it may be, this motorcycle right here started life as a Honda CB 750 and was going pretty well until ending up in the hands of the guys at Garage Company Customs. They made it look, perform and sound even better and now call it the Honda CB 750 Cafe Racer. It looks more like a bobber than a café racer to us, but the name is the least important when looking at the actual bike.

This retains the original engine, which now breaths out through a custom exhaust system, while the modified frame and new, sportier suspensions are supposed to glue it to the road. The riding position looks a bit harsh, but does that even matter when you’ll be turning more heads than on any production bike out there, if that’s your goal. Also, beware of the paparazzi if you’re riding this custom made Honda CB around the streets of LA because they sure ruined Brad Pitt’s day and you’ll be looking like him on it. The Yamaha YZ450 is one of the best motocross bikes now around and little did we knew it can be adapted to a whole lot of riding conditions and even be turned into a 60’s style café racer if someone’s got the energy to undergo the demanding process of making a fact out of an innovative idea such as the oil-in-frame, just to give an example. The bike also features drilled engine plates and underseat pipe, but you’ll only notice that if you’re interested enough to look beyond the sleek fairing.

It is too bad we don’t have more information about this unique combination of style called YZ450 café racer as it was surely a bright idea and an exciting project.

Since we’ve seen the Predator Hayabusa last week, we got more interested about Pitstop Motorsport’s past projects and came to see that the shop has made a tradition from creating scary as hell Hayabusa bikes. This here for instance is the King Kong Hayabusa, a standard bike underneath and a monster outside.

The King Kong paintjob with New York in the background is simply more than we can take, but when this bike is moving, it has New York with it on the tail unit, which is a nice touch as well. The only problem is that we can’t spot the beauty anywhere near, but we can only guess it is a matter of time until we do.
