Master of backflips Travis Pastrana together with Ken Block and the guys at DC shoes have come up with a unique customization idea for the FMX Suzuki bike ridden by Travis. They thought at getting rid of the tires (they were too comfortable anyway) and slip the bike into something more stylish, like these pares of shoes. Said and done! The bike is featured in a DC ad and on an episode of MTV’s Nitro Circus, where you can see Travis doing a backflip and finally tearing the rear wheel apart in one of the sickest burnouts we’ve seen in a long time. Jake Semtex is a British stuntman who on April 17, 1999 gained itself a place in the Guinness World Book of Records after he achieved the longest motorcycle head-on ramp jump – 50.6 ft – at the Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground in Leicestershire, UK. His record still hold on today.
We’ve come across a very funny video showing an actor from Hollyoaks, the famous UK television soap opera, trying to pass over an easy obstacle at the Red Bull Romaniacs, the hardest enduro rallye in the world. The guy actually manages to see his way over the obstacle, but gets too enthusiastic about it and…and he brings home a nice story, just as the boss told him to. Just look at him go.
Daredevil Ryan Capes flew his Kawasaki dirt bike for 300ft during the Street Vibrations event at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Nevada and so managed to set a new world record that would make Evil Knievel damn proud.
Kawasaki has recently posted two videos about their top 2010 motocross models, the KX250F and KX450F, on their official Youtube channel. These are actually video previews by Jeff Emig, who takes viewers through the most important features of these bikes. While Kawi’s quarter-liter motocrosser has been seriously improved, the KX450F is a totally new bike. Enjoy the videos.
Usually when we see bikers riding without gear, we tend to blame them for the risks that they’re taking, but for no reason, we cannot have the same reaction in this case. She’s probably out to catch the morning sun and that’s no reason to criticize someone, so much the less a gorgeous chick.
Although he wasn’t riding the reverse-cylinder 2010 Yamaha YZ450F, James Steward recently did a shoot for the 2010 Answer Racing catalog at his riding compound in Haines City, Florida. How’s that for a reason to make an amazing video of James training in his backyard? Indeed, that’s not something to be missed, so the filming crew took a heli there and we believe that’s exactly what James was trying to reach during those high jumps.
Suzuki introduces the 2010 RM-Z250 as the first quarter-liter motocrosser to be powered by a fuel-injected engine and so makes sure that this model continues the tradition started by its bigger brother, the RM-Z450, a model which was also the first in its class to feature fuel injection a couple of years back. Not only the engine is now fed through a revolutionary system, but it also revs higher and it is now more compact. With a redesigned frame, updated brakes and suspension, this bike qualifies as a championship-winning machine. We shall wait and see if things turn out as claimed by Suzuki.
