The Jerez de la Frontera circuit, the venue for a fantastic opening round win for Loris Capirossi in the MotoGP championship eight months ago, was also the scene for the final testing session of the year which concluded today. Loris Capirossi and Casey Stoner were only able to manage a few laps today with the 800cc Ducati Desmosedici GP7. After a couple of exits apiece late in the morning, when temperatures were suitable for the start of testing, a heavy rain shower forced the Ducati MotoGP Team riders into the pits. Ducati Marlboro Team riders Troy Bayliss and Loris Capirossi finished MotoGP’s 990cc era in awesome style at Valencia yesterday, storming to a dominant one-two finish in front of a capacity crowd of 129,000 noisy fans. On the eve of the final MotoGP race of the season at Valencia’s Ricardo Tormo circuit the Ducati Marlboro Team rider Loris Capirossi paid a visit to the base of Luna Rossa Challenge, the Prada and Telecom Italia-backed team that will represent Italy in the 32nd America’s Cup sailing event at the Spanish city. Loris Capirossi has signed again for the Ducatti team, so in 2007 he will ride the Desmosedici another year. Capirossi firt ride the Desmosedici first in 2003 when Ducati made its debut in the MotoGP championship.
