Harley-Davidson Museum installs first exhibit

With its summer 2008 opening on the horizon, construction at the Harley-Davidson Museum has moved inside. Most recently, workers began assembling the replica 1920s board track, the first exhibit to be installed in the museum.

A popular pastime, board track racing was quickly outlawed because of its dangers. Racers traveled around oil-slicked tracks banking 45-degree angled curves at 120 miles per hour on brakeless motorcycles.

The Museum will bring Harley-Davidson passion alive through stories of extraordinary people, culture and history of the Motor Company.
