KillaCycle: 0-60 in 1.4 seconds

The KillaCycle is currently the fastest electric drag motorcycle in the world. It can go from 0-60MPH in 1.4 seconds and tops out the quarter mile in 8.7 seconds @ 145MPH! Now that’s fast. And best of all, it’s nearly silent.

The bike relies on 880 Lithium Ion batteries, producing a total of 374V at 1350A, for a total of about 350HP. The batteries are made by A123 Systems and use the latest in high performance battery technology. The secret to the A123 batteries is an active material particle size that’s much smaller than first generation Lithium Ion technologies. This results in a battery that has much faster kinetics, a higher power output, lower impedance and a wide temperature range.
