Honda reveals exhaust patents for the next generation of Fireblade.

On a growing, competitive market every manufacturer continuously tries improve their products but in the world of superbike development means a complete redesign.

In 2004 the exhaust system on the Honda CBR1000RR (as well as the entire bike) was all-new and after some detail tweaks in 2006, everybody expects a radically new bike for next year.

By watching at these patent drawings we can observe that the next Fireblade is to use a Hornet-style under slung exhaust system but we all now that a sports bike’s needs are much different to the naked Hornet, so a rethink of the concept is needed.

Honda now faces the problem of adjusting the exhaust’s length and volume required to get the right spread of power, so an advanced version of the Hornet 600’s exhaust will be used. But hey, are you worried for a problem that the engineers from Honda might encounter? I’m sure they will figure it out and they will finally come out with a great new motorcycle and I hope that with the same rush.
