Harley-Davidson motorcycles have won their fair share of awards over the years and the 2007 model year is no exception. The FXSTC Softail Custom, VRSC Night Rod Special and the new Smart Security System have all recently won prestigious awards and were available for demo rides at the Daytona Speedway and at the Ocean Center at Daytona Bike Week 2007, along with all Harley-Davidson and Buell motorcycles.

At the recent V-Twin Expo Excellence in Motorcycle Awards, the Softail Custom was named "Cruiser of the Year" and the Factory Smart Security System was named "Accessory of the Year." The Night Rod Special was named "Cruiser of the Year" by the United Kingdom's Motorcycle News (MCN).

The new FXSTC Softail Custom, powered by the rigid-mounted Twin Cam 96B V-Twin engine, redefines long-haul comfort and easy-riding style. The Custom is comfortable and chromed-out with 1960s-inspired style and a number of new features such as 6-speed Cruise Drive transmission, low slung two-up stepped seat, Fat Bob fuel tank, forward controls, 200mm rear tire and traditional Bobtail fender.

The Smart Security System, available as a factory installed option for all 2007 Harley-Davidson models, offers motorcycle owners more convenient protection. The buttonless system self-arms when the ignition is off and self-disarms when the ignition is turned on with the fob present. While not available on demo ride motorcycles in Daytona, there was a full Smart Security System display at the Harley-Davidson New Product Show at the Ocean Center.

Based on the VRSCD Night Rod, the 2007 Night Rod Special replaces almost all chrome work with black components. The liquid-cooled, 1130cc Revolution V-Twin engine is powder-coated jet black except for the thin edges of its shaved aluminum cylinder fins. Exhaust pipes feed brushed aluminum straight-shot mufflers with black end caps and black exhaust shields. This version of the Revolution V-Twin pounds out 120 horsepower and 80 ft. lbs. of peak torque.
