This year marks 100 years that the legendary Isle of Man Tourist Trophy races have been in existence. As a tribute to this centennial anniversary, on display on the lawns at the Legend of the Motorcycle Concours d’Elegance will be several motorcycles that raced and placed in motorcycling’s longest running competition.

Below are just a few examples of the motorcycles that will be present:

• 1911 Indian raced to 1st place in the Senior class by O.C. Godfrey.
• 1923 Indian raced by Freddie Dixon. He was in first place in the Senior but had to stop to fix a flat tire and still managed to clinch 3rd.
• 1938 Velocette KTT raced by Parisian Roger Loyer to 1st place as a Junior independent. Loyer’s daughter is bringing this bike over from France.
• 1951 Mondial raced by Carlo Ubbiali to 2nd place in the Lightweight 125 class. Ubbiali later went on to win the Grand Prix World Championship in 1951 on this motorcycle and then placed 2nd once again in the TT the very next year in 1952.
• 1966 MV Agusta 500 raced to 1st place in the Junior by Giacomo Agostini.

The second annual Legend of the Motorcycle takes place May 5th at the ocean-side Ritz-Carlton in Half Moon Bay, California. Tickets for this international charitable event are $50 in advance ($65 on Concours day) and may be purchased through the website at www.LegendoftheMotorcycle.com.
