Among the many promising themes planned for this weekend on the track of Mantua, there is also the appointment with the French MX pilot, Livia Lancelot. At only 20 years, the skilled Kawasaki pilot arrives for the first time in Mantua with the clear purpose of defending that much craved first place in the Women World Championship.

Italy opens its gates for this weekend’s Grand Prix and although the track is a first for Livia, she has great expectations for a weekend to remember despite the tight schedule of the MX1 and MX2 categories.

The big challenge involves only women and it is divided in five tests that took place last Sunday in Bulgaria, but the decisive card announces on being played in the next two days so stay tuned.

Predictions talk about the beautiful Livia Lancelot-pilot for team GPKR- as being the favorite by far as it runs for the same team as the Pourcel brothers did, but let’s see where it come from before hoping any more or less related to its performance.

Born on February 11th 1988 in Paris, Livia has proved having great riding skills ever since it was a child and now, in its twenties, the young French brings back on the scene the image of the pilot girl combining beauty, talent and, hopefully, great results on the motocross track’s slopes.

As a child, Livia first discovered its passion for motorcycles at the age of five years, when it receives a PW 50. The step towards racing is short and Livia immediately wins the league FFM. At fourteen years it makes a in the 125 and after a year of apprenticeship docks in the French league where Junior puts behind many boys.

A great step in the girl’s career is made at 17 years, when Livia, participates in the first edition of Women's World Championship trials unique. She obtained a decent third place. In 2006 it heads once again to that third place, the title going to Prumm, despite a fall that makes her lose the leadership race of 250.

In 2007 it joins team GPKR Kawasaki, moved his residence in Belgium, but that craved title does not arrive because of an accident at the beginning of the season which resulted in a fracture of the clavicle, and then when it recovers obtains a second in the league breaks the ligaments of the knee.

The dream fades, winner is still Prumm, but 2008 seems to be the year right: last Sunday, the opening of the World, Livia became find ready winning the Grand Prix of Bulgaria and finishing the second round and the first place.

But Lancelot will not have easy life: the rivals are not lacking, beginning with the champion in office Katherine Prumm, but arrive at Nuvolari not in perfect shape having injured in a race of the Belgian championship. Other girls to be considered will be the German Papenmeier and Franke, America Fiolek.
