Lotus has just released the official images of its all-new motorcycle. The new bike needed two years to be developed, but we’ll have to admit that the end result looks quite stunning. The new Lotus C-01 represents the fruit of collaboration between Group Lotus, Kodewa (a racing team based in Greding, Germany) and the tuners from Holzer Group.

The body of the new Lotus C-01, was designed by Daniel Simon and was created using a lot of carbon fiber.

Designer Daniel Simon said: “The design process of the C-01 was a labour of love - there were many challenges - ensuring that the bike not only touches your visual senses with its timeless blend of classic appeal and modern execution, but that is safe and ergonomically sound was critical to me. We have worked hard to create a motorcycle with very distinctive features such as a clean main body, an extremely low side profile, a bold stance, a unique air intake, logical partline solutions and clean graphics.”

The motorcycle weighs only 189 kg and its frame was created using high tech materials such as aerospace quality steel and titanium.

Talking about the new Lotus C-01, Kodewa’s Dr Colin Kolles stated: “We set out to create a bike that isn’t just great to ride but also represents a piece of art in motion. Over the years I have seen my fair share of style over substance, what this bike brings to the market is a unique combination of both - state of the art technology with a truly jaw-dropping aesthetic.”

The company says that its new C-01 will be available in a limited run of only 100 units and the customers will have the possibility to choose from a wide range of liveries.
