Fond du Lac, WI -- The 2007 Ride for Pride 100-mile motorcycle ride and fund-raiser will be held Saturday, April 28, departing from the Fond du Lac Holiday Inn at noon.


Festivities get underway on Friday night, April 27, with a pre-ride party at Open Road Harley-Davidson located on Rolling Meadows Drive, just south of Hwy. 23.

Riders and participants can preregister at Open Road Friday night and also 9-10 a.m. at open Road and 10-11:30 a.m. at the Holiday Inn.


Organizers include the Open Road Harley Owners Group (HOG) Fond du Lac chapter and Open Road Harley-Davidson. This year’s chairman of the Ride for Pride is Mike Arnold.


The ride includes a halfway-point stop and then returns to the Holiday inn for dinner and entertainment.


The registration fee is $30 per person and incentive prizes are awarded for various levels of collected pledges over $50.


Proceeds from this year’s ride will go to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, Lion’s Pride Campaign, Free SPIRIT Riders and New Beginnings.


The Ride for Pride began with 62 riders taking part in 1986 and raising $2,000.

The 2006 Ride for Pride involved more than 650 riders and they helped raise over $62,000.


This year, corporate sponsorship from more than 25 businesses will help raise funds for the local charities.
