Jeremy Stenberg imposed itself during the second stage of the spectacular Red Bull X-Fighters, held in Rio de Janeiro, ahead of Mat Rebeaud and Robbie Maddison.
It seems that the American has felt well at home during the fantastic journey with as many as 9 ramps and a total of 96 meters which gave scene to a big event in front of 30,000 spectators on the legendary Sambadrome.
The winner confesses: “Unbelievable difficult. Some of the riders here were really afraid of the course. This victory means a great deal to me. I have never seen such a challenging course. One trick went completely wrong and I thought it was all over, but Rebeaud made a mistake too”
Despite the sorrow, the Swiss Mat Rebeaud was happy with the final: "I made a serious error in the final, which probably cost me the victory, but could go even worse. I’m happy not to be dropped. "
Indeed, the public has witnessed a nasty fall occurred at the Norwegian rider André Villa, in the quarter-finals, but fortunately the pilot has not done anything worrying.
After two races, Mat Rebeaud (185 points) leads the general classification, with a small lead over the second, Jeremy Stenberg (155 points). Next meeting for the third stage is in Texas, June 14.
