The first lucky customer to receive their Desmosedici RR Grand Prix Replica in the UK, has allowed Ducati Glasgow to display his new pride and joy in their showroom over the weekend of the 26th and 27th of January 2008.

The Ducati-mad Scotsman Scott Charles has finally taken delivery of his stunning Desmosedici RR nearly 6 years after ordering a bike that to begin with was only a dream. However he has been rewarded for his patience by receiving the first bike in the UK. The 36 year old engineer from Leven, Fife, first ordered the Desmosedici after reading about Ducati’s plans to go MotoGP racing and guessed that Ducati would produce a road going version before too long. At World Ducati Weekend in 2004, Ducati announced its plans to build the bike and finally Scott knew his dream could come true. On the 22nd January 2008, Scott’s Desmosedici RR finally arrived. It had taken 2119 days for his dream to become reality.

Scott was obviously delighted: “I am extremely grateful for all the support the Ducati UK team have given me during my 5.8 years of anticipation and to Ducati Glasgow who endured me over these past years, operated in the most outstanding professional manner, and languished care and attention over me and the bike, all as excited as I was. They are, without a doubt, an incredible asset to the dealer chain and I will continue to count them as my extended family.”

He also paid tribute to the Italian factory: “Of our Italian friends, I hope they continue to have the success and courage to replicate the fantastic achievements of late. They have, again, outdone themselves, yet each time I am always amazed.”

Scotland’s Premier dealer will be inviting the public to view this magnificent bike from 9am - 5pm on Saturday and 12pm - 4pm on Sunday.
