Ducati’s contest at Daytona Bike Week involves various motorcycles, as you can see in the case of the winners which have just passed off the first round.

The Ducati Superbike Concorso is a competition addressed to owners of different Ducati Superbike models and one which in order to rapidly gain popularity was dated during Daytona’s Bike week festival.

As expected, the Superbike Concorso attracted the best of the best, not necessarily the latest Ducati models. You will notice a 1977 Ducati 900SS and a Ducati 750F made in 1987 both leaders of their categories.

The competition was held last Friday at the Daytona International Speedway and the organizers have just revealed the winners of the different cathegories:

Ducati Passion Award for Superbikes ridden to the event:

John Avelluto (2005 Ducati 999) and James Wilde (2007 Ducati 1098).

Bella Ducati Award for Superbikes of extraordinary external beauty:

James Dillard Jr. (1987 Ducati 750F1 Laguna Seca)

Casey Stoner Award for current model Superbikes:

Kevin Mendez (2007 Ducati 1098 "Xerox Replica")

Troy Bayliss Award for 1988 - 2007 Superbikes:

S. Brian Meserlian (2005 Ducati 749R)

Cook Neilson Award for Pre-1988 Superbikes:

Peter Calles (1977 Ducati 900SS)

Taglioni Award for Competition Superbikes:

Chris Boy (2000 Ducati 996RS)

The next edition of the Ducati Superbike Concorso is supposed to be held online starting April 7th, but I feel it’s a must telling you what you’ll actually win: a perfectly working and looking Ducati 996 RS, something that Troy Bayliss would have rode during the British Superbike championship of the time.

Great Ducati initiative!
