Triumph enters on the Indian market

Posted on by

According to Autocar, Triumph Motorcycles will officially enter on the Indian market on November 28th. Triumph plans for quite a while to hit the Indian market but only now we have the official confirmation of this big event.

The company’s plans to enter on this emerging market were betrayed back in 2012 when Triumph presented its motorcycles at the Auto Expo in New Delhi. Luckily Triumph’s models were received with enthusiasm by the Indian riders, therefore the British manufacturer decided that it could be a good idea to try its luck on this continuously growing market. Rumors say that Triumph’s lineup for the Indian market will include six models namely the Bonneville, Street Triple and Speed Triple, Daytona 675, Tiger 800 XC and the Rocket III.

For the moment, we don’t know what strategy will be used by Triumph but it is highly probable that the long term plan is to bring the motorcycles completely knocked down (CKD) and assemble them at a new plant located in Naraspura. From what we know, the Naraspura plant isn’t currently ready for production, but there is a small workshop in Manesar which will receive the task to assemble the first models.
