Aprilia started its adventure in the big bikes segment with the Pegaso 650. In fact the Pegaso 650 was the first bike of its kind and gave the start to an entire new segment.

Fortunately the company never stopped to improve the Pegaso 650 and the bike continues to considered a benchmark in its segment.

The 2012 Aprilia Pegaso 650 Factory is propelled by a modern, four-valve, dry sump engine with electronic fuel injection which puts out 48 HP (35 kW) at 6,000 rpm and 59 Nm of torque at 5,000 rpm.

The company says that its bike was made to master the hairpins of mountain roads and trails and rewards you with a thrilling ride every time you jump on the saddle. The bike was not only made for savage roads, as it feels imilarly comfortable around the city too. With a total steering angle of 76° (38°+38°), the Pegaso 650 flicks through the traffic like a compact scooter.

Press Release

As with all Aprilia sports bikes, the word ‘Factory’ has a precise meaning when used in the context of the Pegaso 650. The Pegaso 650 Factory is the most exclusive and fastest Pegaso ever, featuring a performance chassis, lighter materials and, of course, the latest Aprilia technology.

Comparisons with the SXV 450, the world’s most exciting supermotard, are inevitable. The Pegaso Factory incorporates a host of refinements for even better performance and an even more thrilling ride.

The components that distinguish the Pegaso Factory include:

-Spoked wheels with light alloy rims

-Radial front brake caliper

-Radial front brake master cylinder

-Aluminium, double taper handlebar

-Higher seat for greater control

-Carbon fibre front mudguard

-Carbon fibre side guards

-Carbon fibre exhaust shield

Engine

Though the Factory is powered by the same high performance, 650 cc, single cylinder, Euro 3 engine as the Pegaso 650, its lighter components and more effective chassis make it even easier to ride fast and aggressively.

These unique characteristics make the Pegaso Factory the perfect link between specialist and conventional supermotards, and give it the ability to deliver a truly thrilling, entertaining and satisfying on-road experience.

Style and Performance

The new spoked wheels with gold anodised aluminium alloy rims are a clear reference to supermotard design. These prestige wheels reduce inertia and make the Pegaso Factory amazingly light to manoeuvre.

Impressive stopping power is delivered by a top class braking system. The four-pot radial caliper at the front wheel is complemented by a radial master cylinder as on the championship winning SXV 450. Top quality components, of course, do more than just add to the bike’s prestige: they ensure that performance too is the best you can get. Pace-setting brakes mean more effective sports riding and greater safety under normal conditions and around town.

Whether your journey takes you across town or over twisting mountain roads, the Pegaso Factory will give you the ride of your life. Its 20 mm higher seat transfers more weight on to the front wheel for a more active ride and greater control over the front end. The Factory places you in total control under all conditions, and gives you a feeling of immediate confidence. So if you are looking for a bike capable of guaranteeing real thrills even on challenging roads, look no further: the Pegaso Factory is the best road-going single you can find.
