Overview

The first real motorbike

The Aprilia RS4 50 is for budding bikers, those who prefer the real emotions of a motorbike, the knowledge of mechanics and riding pleasure to the virtual world of social networks. For them Aprilia has created the RS4 50, a real bike, designed with the same care and professionalism as the larger engine capacity bikes. Because the first bike is the most important of all and Aprilia knows it well.

2014 Aprilia RS4 50 Key Features:

Design and Equipment

A race replica in 50cc

Also the small Aprilia RS4 50, as its bigger 125 sister, recalls - both in the livery as well as in the importance of the shapes - the appearance of the Aprilia RSV4 super sports bike, starting from its extremely sport-like fairing. Accomplice the triple headlight, a distinguishing feature of all Aprilia sports products, the racing graphics, the exposed frame and also the compact tail, a true work of art in design which optimally integrates the LED tail light. Also the exhaust system is spectacular, racing-inspired and fully integrated in the lower part of the fairing.

Everything under control

Also the RS50 has an analogue/digital multifunction dashboard inspired by that of the RSV4, with analogue rev counter and LCD Screen for all other information, from the speedometer to information on the parameters of its small but generous 50cc engine.

A place for everything

An extremely refined feature of the RS4 50 is the passenger seat. The transformation from a two-seater to a single-seater takes place without the complicated removal of screws but only via a quick release/attachment button that allows the passenger seat to be replaced with the tail cover (available as accessory) in seconds. Under the saddle, moreover, there is space for a practical storage compartment, the largest in the category.

Performances

The 50 2stroke engine: Little pest

The 50cc single cylinder engine developed by Aprilia for the RS4 50 is a two-stroke, liquid cooled engine with reed intake valve. Lubrication is with separate mixing with variable displacement volumetric pump. The six-speed gearbox makes the most of the performance of an engine at the top of its class, a little pest ready to face any challenge.

World championship frame

The frame is undoubtedly the flagship of the RS4 project: created based on the exceptional experience acquired by Aprilia in the WSBK and in the 125 and 250 classes of the MotoGP, it adopts die-cast beams in aluminium alloy with cross-ribbing reinforcement. A lightweight structure, able to offer a high torsional rigidity and which stands out for its avant-garde design.

Top class brakes and tyres

Safety is never enough and this is why the RS4 50 has a braking system definitely oversized for a 50cc. The front has a 300 mm disk brake and works in unison with the four-piston radial mount caliper, while the rear is 220 mm. To enhance the exceptional riding characteristics of the RS4 125, sports tyres in terms of section and footprint have been selected: 100/80 at the front and 130/70 at the rear.
