The new Alp 200 follows in the footsteps of the classic Alp and sets new standards in terms of versatility. It is a pretty interesting concept that gives you the possibility to switch from an off roader to a trials bike in a matter of minutes.
The 2013 Alp 200 comes with a new design, new cycle parts and low running costs. Its backbone is represented by a new trellis frame that was carefully forged to help you handle the Alp with agility.
The Beta Alp 200 weighs only 108 kg and is powered by a 199 cc, single-cylinder, 4-stroke, air cooled, S.O.H.C engine. The engine is combined with a 6.0 liters fuel tank and a five speed transmission with wet-multidisc clutch.
To be able to climb the toughest tracks with poise, the Beta Alp 200 needed a set of rugged tyres. Therefore it comes with 90/90-21 front and 120/80-18 rear off road tyres.

Overview
Innovative new concept: from off-roader to trials bike in a few minutes
It’s called the ALP, a classic among off-road two-wheelers, but all that is left of the previous model is the name. New design, new cycle parts, but above all a new concept behind it: it converts from an all-round off-road bike to a trials machine in a few minutes. The idea is as simple as it is brilliant. There are no accessories to buy, all you need is a screwdriver to remove the tank cover and seat, to get an entry level trials bike. One bike, two uses, and only a few minutes to make the conversion.
The new Alp 200 retains the characteristic features of reliability and low running costs which have made it such a success in recent years, and it gains innovative product functions which enhance its character. The cycle parts are now based on a new trellis frame, which thanks to the new suspension combines terrific handling, off road and on, and surprising agility. Feather weight and low ride height complete the picture. It is enormous fun for day-to-day travelling, and even more striking is its safety for off-road riding. The design, too, is completely new. Compact and athletic, the new Alp stands out for the originality of its concept, with sleek and dynamic lines.
Verdict
The Beta Alp 200 was built to be able to deal with any type of track without any fuss. So it comes with a fairly long travel suspension and a high riding position which gives you a fair amount of confidence when you find yourself behind the handlebar.
You can punish this motorcycle all day long without any problem and its tough construction won’t disappoint you too soon.
In term of style the Beta Alp 200 looks pretty dull and basic, but this is the usual treatment found in this segment, so we won’t complain too much about it.
However, with a price tag of around £3400 the Beta Alp 200 is a bit too expensive for what it has to offer.
