The Bimota DB5R is a compact, light and modern sport bike that is built around an innovative trellis frame with composite architecture made of chrome-molybdenum tubes.
The frame offers the perfect canvas for the motorcycle’s 1078 cc, L twin engine which generates an impressive power rated at 98Hp (71.5 KW) at 7500 rpm and 105 Nm of torque at 5500 rpm. The engine is kept in leash by a 6 speed transmission with dry multiplate clutch.
Thanks to this sporty setup, the Bimota DB5R is able to deliver “lightning-fast corner entry and mid-corner speeds” with easy direction changes.
Moreover, the stopping power is assured by a capable Brembo system which includes 320 mm front single discs, with 4 pistons calipers and rear 230 mm single discs which are paired with 2 pistons calipers.

Overview
DB5R uses a trellis frame with composite architecture and is made of chrome-molybdenum tubes worked with couture craftsmanship typical of Rimini. Lightweight and agile. Thanks to these two characteristics, this twin-cylinder sports bike with its classic Ducati 1100 DS engine produces a unique and emotive riding experience: lightning-fast corner entry and mid-corner speeds can be achieved, with super-precise lines and easy direction changes.
Handling is the best you can ask for in a motorcycle born for the racetrack. Marzocchi 43mm upside-down forks feature preload, rebound and compression adjust-ability and come fitted with tin-coated stanchions. The rear end rides on an Extreme Tech system with preload, rebound and compression adjust-ability so that the bike will remain stable while cornering. The new models offer a taller riding position and this gives the rider more control, resulting in even quicker handling. Brembo supplies the brakes which are composed from a pair of 320mm front discs on which four piston radial calipers are being applied while at the rear a single caliper actions on a 230mm disc. Bimota prides its work on the best materials and systems available and that’s what gives the motorcycle its character.
