BRD Motorcycles is a relatively new company that was born in 2007 thanks to the efforts made by Derek Dorresteyn and Jeff Sand, who dreamed of building a new electric motorcycle that could be easier to ride and stronger than a regular gas bike.
The first motorcycle designed by BRD is named the RedShift and is available in three versions namely the MX, SM and PD.
The new Redshift MX was especially designed for the MX2/Lites class racing and is propelled by a 40 hp electric motor powered by a 5.2 kWh battery. The motorcycle has an estimated riding range of up to two hours and delivers a maximum speed of 80 mph.
As far as wheels are concerned, the BRD MX rides on 21" front ant 19 inch rear spoked rims wrapped in grippy off-road tires.

Overview
The RedShift MX is barely legal - a race bike with lights. Designed for MX2/Lites class racing, the MX light and quick, without the lost seconds from hunting through gears trying to find torque. With 200 hour maintenance intervals, you'll also spend more time riding and less time wrenching.
