Buell’s patents such as the ZTL Braking system, fuel in frame, and underslung exhaust make the American bike manufacturer an innovative one that concentrates on winning the curves first and each customer individually after. That is the approach to have in today’s unforgiving market growth and this video shows it best.

Buell has just finished designing their brand new motorcycle, the 1125CR. Powered by the Buell Helicon 1125 liquid-cooled V-Twin engine, it accelerates straight to the “café racer” times and brings us a freshen up approach of those specific bikes. Erik Buell talks about the brand new bike: “Part superbike and part street fighter, the 1125CR is my vision of a 21st century café racer,” Designed in the specific Buell style – which is very modern, by the way – and still managing to send our (...)

In this article we’re going to have a closer look at what the motorcycle manufacturers are planning for us next year. Since model years are different in parts of the world,we’re not going to call them 2009 or 2010 model, but just “next year”. You’ll understand. In four months, world’s biggest motorcycle exhibition (Intermot in Germany) opens its doors, and we’ll be seeing many new models. Here’s our stab at what we think (hope) to see. The brand-new Buell 1125R delivered a stunning debut at the start of the German racing season on Easter Saturday, posting 2nd and 5th place finishes on Hockenheim’s demanding Grand Prix circuit. Over the past 33 years, the 1000-km of Hockenheim has not only become the established prelude to the German motorcycle racing season, the traditional endurance race is also considered the most important German production-based racing event for motorcycles. This year, BMW and KTM KTM each supplied (...)

Many consider the Ulysses a good enough motorcycle which would provide confidence on and off the road, but us, here at TopSpeed like to call it the absolute American Adventure Sport motorcycle. It is an awesome performer when you hit the streets on it, but if the planned shortcut takes you through unpaved roads or even woods, there’s no worry. It will perform excellent and show us once again that the Thunderstorm engine is versatility itself.

Recently we’ve been publishing reviews about Buell’s 2008 Lightning models and now I’ve come across one special Lightning XB12Ss which has become a radical street fighter. It’s called the special ThunderBuell and it was built by the Germans from Thunderbike. The base motorcycle is an XB12Ss, but if you’re expecting at a price situated around $15,000 you should reconsider and double the amount because in a happy case this is the least you’ll pay for (...)

Like any true roadster, the Buell Lightning XB12Ss offers a comfortable riding position and passenger seat (not like on a brother of it I recently met). The taller and wider seat together with the 54-inch wheelbase manage to offer a better riding position while keeping the bike as sharp-cornering as ever before.

With the 2008 Lightning Super TT, Buell delivers an outstanding Supermoto that is meant to make an awful good impression on the streets. The bike aims towards performance so the Buell Thunderstorm 1203cc V-Twin engine is used. In communion with the impressively versatile chassis and the competition look, the powerplant is extremely well valued so we’re in for an interesting ride.

The 2008 Buell Lightning XB12S enters the scene as a tire-shredding torque provider which not only enjoys offering great throttle response, but also sharp handling and a lot of innovative features that are only found on Buell motorcycles.

Buell racing champions and contenders return to action as teams open the 2008 motorcycle roadracing season at Daytona International Speedway next week. Deeley H-D/Buell Canada/Ruthless Racing rider Dave Estok will defend his 2007 American Sportbike Racing Association (ASRA) Pro Thunderbike championship aboard a Buell Firebolt XB12R in the first round of the ASRA National road racing series on March 1, while five Buell teams are entered in the SunTrust MOTO-ST Daytona 300 endurance race (...)
