The Honda Shadow Phantom is certainly the best Shadow in Honda’s lineup. The basic Shadow was already a tasty looking motorcycle, but the Phantom comes with a series of design improvements which make it truly stunning.

We especially like the blacked-out 745cc V-twin engine and black rims sporting matte silver highlights. Not to mention about the dual exhaust pipes that not only look great but also sound similarly great.

Needless to say that the motorcycle was designed with comfort in mind, so the low seat height, the lean back handlebar and the perfectly placed foot rests are working together to reward you with a relaxed riding position.

The ride is kept in check by a 41mm fork (4.6 inches travel) paired with rear dual shocks with five-position spring-preload adjustability (3.5 inches travel).

The Honda Shadow Phantom is offered with a starting price of $8240.

Overview

The first time you lay eyes on the Shadow Phantom, it’s impossible to keep yourself from staring. Gawking, really. And wishing you had one in your garage. After all, this is the most unique Shadow we’ve ever made, an utterly stunning head-turner with its blacked-out 745cc V-twin engine and black rims sporting matte silver highlights, bobbed fenders, spoke wheels, and beefy front forks. Then the exhaust note hits you, a deep, throaty pulse rumbling from dual exhausts. It’s hard to resist, we know. And downright impossible once you’ve seen its price tag.

The Shadow Phantom embodies the minimalist, stripped-down ideal of custom cruisers past, delivering a uniquely clean and uncluttered look accented with extensive use of blacked-out features—the frame, engine, rims, and handlebars—bringing motorcyclists back to what it means to be cool. With its torque-rich 745cc V-twin engine featuring the sophisticated ease of Programmed Fuel Injection and three-valve/dual-plug combustion chamber construction serving up heaps of low-, mid-, and top-end muscle, the very affordably priced Shadow Phantom puts the thrill of saddling up one of the wickedest customs on pavement within reach of just about every rider.

V-Twin Engine

Nothing pumps out the torque like a big V-Twin. The Phantom's power makes it perfect for both around-town cruising, commutes, and casual weekend-long rides.

Black Finish

Bobber-inspired styling with extensive blacked-out and matte finishes.

Gunfighter Saddle

Sleek, one-piece gunfighter-type seat is comfortable and looks great too.

Low Seat Height

Skimming the pavement at just 25.7 inches, the Phantom's low seat height makes flat-footing it at stoplights or in parking lots a breeze. And the Phantom's narrow seat/tank junction makes it feel even lower.

Programmed Fuel Injection (PGM-FI)

Forget about fiddling with a choke—the Shadow's fuel injection system means no-hassle startups on cold mornings or at high altitudes, and optimal performance in any condition.

Five-Speed Transmission

Wide-ratio five-speed transmission lets you cruise the boulevard at a low, unhurried pace, yet lets you hop on the highway without revving the engine through the roof.

2-Into-2 Exhaust System

Sleek new pipes feature bullet-style mufflers for that classic cruiser style of yesteryear. Large-diameter head pipes and 2-into-2 system design combine to put out true, V-twin cruiser sound.

Shorty Front Fender

Minimalist front fender gives the Shadow Phantom a lighter, cleaner, more progressive look.

Front Disc Brake

If there's one place you DON'T want retro performance, it's when it comes to your brakes. That's why we gave the Shadow Phantom a 296mm front disc for distinctly modern stopping power.

Spoked Wheels

Spoked black wheels and hubs feature a 120/90-17 front tire and 160/80-15 rear tire to complete the overall custom look.
