Meet the Honda TRX400X, a compact off roader designed to go head to head with any type of terrain without baking down.
At the heart of the ATV lies a reliable SOHC, 397cc, air cooled, dry sump RFVC engine which sends its power to the ground through a five speed transmission.
The ATV’s speed is kept in check by a set of capable triple disc brakes (two front, one rear) that offer an excellent stopping power and a good feedback.
In terms of suspensions, the Honda TRX400 comes with Baja-ready Pro-Link rear suspension with a one-piece cast-aluminum swingarm and fully adjustable large-diameter aluminum-body piggyback Showa shock. We also like the one-piece cast-aluminum swingarm that further enhances the ATV’s rigidity and durability without affecting the overall weight.
The 2013 Honda TRX400X is offered with a starting price of $ 6,399.

TRX400X is a tough, no-nonsense sport ATV for riders who are tackling demanding trails, and who want the performance and reliability that has made Honda famous. Built around a powerful SOHC, 397cc, air-cooled, dry-sump RFVC engine the chassis offers Baja-ready Pro-Link® suspension with long travel and triple disc brakes. Reverse? It’s standard equipment too. And so is the refinement and comfort that let you spend all day in the saddle.
For highly experienced riders only; no operator under age 16. Honda recommends that all ATV riders take a training course and read their owner’s manual thoroughly.
There’s no reason to settle for less than a Honda. Your time is too precious to waste on anything less than our premier levels of quality, engineering, ergonomics and performance. From the TRX400X’s reliable-as-a-hammer RFVC engine to its race-bred Pro-Link suspension, its first-time, every-time electric starter, industry-leading technology and leading-edge design, you’ll know you’ve made the right choice every time you ride.
Effortless electric starter makes getting the engine started easy. Even when the engine is cold or at high altitude, all you need to do is push a button.
Not just a motorcycle clutch in an ATV engine, the TRX400X’s heavy-duty clutch has 2mm-thick plates that are specially designed to stand up to sport-ATV demands.
Easy to use reverse for unloading or getting out of tight spots.
Triple Disc Brakes
Featuring excellent stopping power and superior feel and feedback, these triple disc brakes (two front, one rear) also run cool. An aluminum rear caliper stay also helps shave weight.
High-impact plastic skidplates protect engine cases, rear-brake disc and drive sprockets from the trials of the trails. It’s all part of Honda’s attention to detail and why your TRX400X is designed to be trouble-free.
High-Performance 397cc Engine
Bulletproof Radial Four-Valve Combustion Chamber (RFVC), ensures maximum combustion efficiency and horsepower. Camshaft timing developed specifically to meet ATV requirements for torque and useable horsepower.
Some other big singles beat you up with vibration and buzz, but not the TRX400X. A gear-driven counterbalancer minimizes engine vibration for smooth operation.
If you sometimes ride in less-than-ideal conditions, you’ll appreciate the TRX400X’s snorkel-type airbox. Designed to help your engine avoid contamination from water and dirt, you’ll keep going while your buddies are stuck.
Competition-Spec Suspension and Chassis
Pro-Link® rear suspension features a one-piece cast-aluminum swingarm and fully adjustable large-diameter aluminum-body piggyback Showa® shock delivering 9.1 inches of travel. Triple disc brakes feature superb stopping power and a weight-saving aluminum rear caliper stay.
One-piece cast-aluminum swingarm is a specially designed piece that optimizes strength, rigidity and durability, but that is still light and which helps reduce unsprung weight.
