The Honda TRX450R is a pretty sporty ATV designed with speed and agility in mind. This unique machine features a racer DNA and offers a great combination of power, handling and ergonomy.
The secret behind TRX450R’s performances is a reliable 450cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder four-stroke unit that is brought to life by an electric starter. The engine breaths through a 40mm Keihin FCR-type carburetor that offers a crisp throttle and smooth operation.
The ATV’s speed is kept under control by Dual 174mm front disc brakes with twin-piston calipers and a 190mm rear disc with single-piston caliper.
The Honda TRX450R is also fitted with an independent double-wishbone front suspension with Showa shocks, with adjustable spring-preload, rebound and compression-damping and a rear Pro-Link suspension that connects to the swingarm via a progressive linkage.
The Honda TRX450R is available with a base price of $7,799.

Overview
We build ATVs for lots of riders: Farmers, ranchers, hunters, explorers. But the TRX450R is built for a different kind of rider: Winners. Because the TRX450R has one mission: to get you to the finish line first.
With a race-winning heritage a mile long—including multiple Baja 1000 victories—the TRX450R offers up an ideal mix of performance, handling and power, thanks to a MX-inspired Unicam® liquid-cooled four stroke engine. Its Pro-Link® suspension offers over nine inches of plush, controlled travel. And its convenient electric starter makes for fast exits out of the pits.
Nothing separates the best from the rest like racing does. And when the checkered flag drops, Honda's TRX450R built its reputation on being the best.
Important Safety Information For highly experienced riders only; no operator under age 16. Honda recommends that all ATV riders take a training course and read their owner's manual thoroughly.
If you’re serious about winning, then you need to be serious about your equipment. And for thousands of race-winning riders, that means one thing: They choose the TRX450R. Show up on anything else and you’re handicapping yourself. The TRX450R’s leading-edge puts it out front from start to finish, and its Honda quality means less maintenance between races. Check it out, and you’ll be convinced.
Handy, Dependable Electric Starter
Electric-start system features an electric starter that drives the clutch side of the crankshaft, providing superior lubrication of starter gears while producing a narrow engine with a short, strong crankshaft. Handlebar—mounted, push-button electric start system—the ultimate in convenience and reliability.
MX-Proven Suspension and Chassis
The TRX450R front suspension features independent double-wishbone with Showa® shocks, with adjustable spring-preload, rebound and compression-damping and 8.4 inches travel. In the rear, the Pro-Link® suspension connects to the swingarm via a progressive linkage and features a fully adjustable Showa® piggyback shock, providing 9.3 inches of travel.
Dual Front Disc Brakes
Dual 174mm front disc brakes with twin-piston calipers and high-pressure front brake lines provide excellent stopping power. Aluminum brake calipers and brackets front and rear reduce weight.
Twin-Sump Lubrication
Twin-sump lubrication system separates the oil supply for the crankshaft, piston and valve train from the clutch and transmission. This ensures a cool supply of oil to the clutch, eliminates clutch and transmission material contamination to the engine oil and reduces the amount of circulating oil and the required size of the oil pump.
Nikasil Cylinder Lining
High-performance Nikasil cylinder lining is plated directly to the aluminum cylinder wall. It’s tough, smooth, lightweight and provides cooler and quieter operation for extended engine life and higher engine performance.
High-Performance Flat-Slide Carburetor
40mm Keihin FCR-type carburetor features flat-slide construction with four rollers. This results in very light throttle effort, smooth operation, crisp throttle response and excellent rideability.
Rear Disc Brake with Aluminum Caliper
190mm rear disc and beefy single-piston caliper provide improved stopping power. Aluminum brake calipers and brackets front and rear reduce weight.
