Forged from Honda’s desire to develop a capable, reliable and ergonomic off-roader, the Honda XR650L has all it needs to be considered a true dirt lover.

On the savage tracks, the motorcycle is helped by a reliable 644cc OHC powerplant that uses Honda’s patented Radial Four-Valve Combustion Chamber (RFVC). The engine is mated on a five speed transmission which delivers an average fuel consumption of 52 MPG.

The motorcycle’s backbone is represented by a semi-double-cradle steel frame which is paired with a 43mm Showa cartridge fork with 16-position compression damping adjustability and an aluminum box-section swingarm with quick-detach rear wheel.

To be able to deal with tough terrains without baking down, the bike needed a set of very capable suspensions. Thereby Honda equipped its CRF250R with 48mm inverted Showa cartridge front forks with 16-position rebound and 16-position compression damping adjustability and rear Pro-Link Showa single shocks with spring preload, 17-position rebound damping adjustability, and compression-damping adjustment.
