The Husqvarna TE 610IE lines up with the WRE 125. This new model has been designed to fill a gap in a particularly interesting sector of the motorcycle market – that of the 600 cc four-stroke, single cylinder, off-road machine.

Based on the SM 610, the new Husqvarna TE 610IE benefits from having many parts in common with other four-stroke, racing Enduro Husqvarnas. The new machine signals the return of the 69 times World Off-Road Champions to the Dual Purpose sector - meaning bikes that will take you anywhere.
With the new TE 610IE, Husqvarna intends to widen its range to include those less competition-minded riders who use their bikes every day and need more comfort and practicality but want to combine this with the thrill of owning a race bike.
The Husqvarna TE 610IE is perfect for those of you that want a bike with muscle but also class. It is without any doubt the best example of how a racing off-roader can be transformed into a road-going machine.
The new Husqvarna happily took up the challenge of racing and in the last Italian Championship Motorally and Raid Marathon won the “Marathon” category for production bikes.
The TE 610IE combines a strong character with looks. Part of its brilliance comes from the chassis that has been tuned to cope with daily road use but the machine is still powered by one of the best engines in production today, especially in the low-medium rev band. The new version has had some highly significant modifications to the cylinder and head as well as now being fitted with a new electronic injection system that conforms to Euro 3 standards.
Main modifications to the new Husqvarna TE 610 IE:
Engine
- High compression piston
- Fuel injection system
- New digital ECU with TPS (Throttle Position System)
- Max power output 39 KW (54 CV) at 7000 RPM

The technology
This machine is the result of a specific design aimed at offering a specialised yet very usable bike to as wide a range of customers as possible.
It is a perfect blend of racing technology and innovative comfort-oriented design. The TE 610IE is an Enduro/Off road bike that can be used for medium/long journeys yet has all the creature comforts you would normally find on a road bike.
There is nothing to match its looks. The 610 comes in the red/white livery of the Husqvarna racing team and looks like the racing TE but with a totally new customised style.
The 12.5 litre tank is fitted with a locking cap
The new digital instrumentation displays speed, time, mileage, rpm and has a trip-meter as well as the normal warning lights (indicators, full beam, dipped beam, service due etc.).
The handlebars and controls are very much along the same lines as the TE racing version and the riding position can be changed by adjusting the clamps where the handlebars are connected to the forks.
Although using the traditional round tubes, the chassis has been stiffened and strengthened by modifying the rake and by using a more wrap-round tubular cradle.
The rear arm is the same as used on the TE 450/510 models and has a new Sachs shock absorber with compression and rebound adjustment using a redesigned link. At the front is a pair of Marzocchi 45 mm inverted forks with adjustable compression and rebound damping. The Brembo brakes feature a floating 4 caliper 260 mm front disc while rear braking is left to a 220 mm disc. In effect, the suspension and brakes are the same as on the TE with softer but fully adjustable settings.
The TE 610 IE was also designed to allow for comfortably carrying a pillion passenger. The saddle has different density padding and anti-slip footrests. Thanks to special clips fitted to the rear chassis and mudguard, special side panniers can be fitted as an optional extra.
The chassis can be fitted with a main stand that is available as an optional extra.
The rear mudguard has a new separate number plate carrier with an independent illumination light.
A balancing counter-shaft is fitted to the 610 engine to off-set the vibration one would normally expect with a large single cylinder unit. Lubrication is by means of twin trochoidal-type pumps. One pump supplies oil to the head and crankshaft, while the second pump draws oil from the crankcase and supplies it to the gearbox.
Breathing is via a 4 valve, single overhead cam and rocker arm system with variable valve springs and a new timing chain tensioner has been introduced to reduce noise.
The 610 TE IE now has an electronic injection system that was developed in collaboration with Mikuni.
The exhaust system on the four-stroke single cylinder engine has a “closed loop” lambda probe. The catalyser has been redesigned and optimised to meet Euro 3 requirements. The catalyser section on the silencer and the area around the passenger footrests have been covered with stainless steel protection.
The engine now features a 42 mm throttle body with the starter command on the handlebars and there is also now a 300 Kpa Mitsubishi “twin jet” fuel injector fitted to the throttle. The pressure regulator (3 Bar) regulates any return of excess fuel to the tank and the MAQS (Modularised Air Quantity Sensor) consists of air temperature, mapping and TPS sensors (Throttle Position Sensor). The Kokusan 360W three-phase ignition flywheel is also new.
The water temperature sensor is positioned on the head. The injection ECU processes signals and governs the operation of the solenoid-operated valve fitted to the right hand side of the radiator. New components include the rugged polyethylene petrol tank with a 40l/h pump; the non-return fuel circuit has quick-fit connections.
Maximum output has been increased to 39 Kw (about 54 CV) at 7.000 rpm at the crankshaft.
