The Husqvarna TE 250 was born with adventure in its veins. Built to be able to conquer the toughest tracks without baking down, the Husqvarna TE 250 is a light, motorcycle powered by a 249 cc, 1 - cylinder, 2 - stroke, water cooled engine with reed intake and exhaust control. The engine is paired with a six speed claw shifted transmission.

Other features offered by the Husqvarna TE 250 include adjustable power valve, adjustable CDI, hydraulic clutch and electric start.

The Husqvarna TE 250 rides on front 48mm WP 4CS forks which employ 4 chamber technology that reduces weight compared to a typical closed cartridge fork. The rear suspension includes high performance DCC (Dual Compression Control) rear shock by WP which is completely adjustable for rebound and high/low speed compression damping.

Overview

Performance Without Compromise

Typical 2-stroke agility is combined with a powerful 250cc engine to deliver class-leading performance in a high-tech package that includes adjustable power valve, adjustable CDI, hydraulic clutch and electric start. Top-level features, race-winning performance and typical low costs of ownership, make the TE 250 a formidable contender in the E2 category.

2015 Husqvarna TE 250 Key Features:

2-Stroke Power:

Ignition

The CDI curve has been optimised to match the new power valve setting, and can be modified according to terrain and rider preference. The CDI unit features two ignition curves that can be switched by changing the plug connection or via the Husky Power optional handlebar switch.

Engine

Strong and tractable power characteristics throughout the rev range, ideal for Enduro use, have been obtained thanks to the power valve on the sophisticated 250cc 2-stroke engine. A new power valve setting, optimised CDI curve and a revised carburettor setting guarantee a smoother power delivery. A Boyesen reed valve is mated to the latest generation of reed blocks for excellent response and durability. The engine characteristics can be further tailored to rider preference by varying the spring stiffness in the exhaust valve.

Clutch

An innovative DDS (damped diaphragm steel) clutch system is fitted to achieve smooth action and easy control. The exclusive characteristics of this system include a diaphragm spring instead of coil springs, an integrated damping system for better traction and durability, and a strong inner hub for increased stability. Riders of all levels will appreciate the precise Brembo hydraulic system for perfect clutch modulation.

Starter

The TE 250 has an electric starter as well as a kick starter, underlining the extreme versatility and technology of the Husqvarna 2-stroke Enduro line-up. For MY15, the gearing on the electric starter has been revised for better and easier starting.

Finest Components:

Frame

The strong and light chromoly frame is an exceptional partner for the powerful 2-stroke engine, and works in perfect harmony with the other jewels in the Husqvarna chassis. Although the overall frame design is the same on all the Enduro models, each model has slight variations in geometry and stiffness in key areas in order to tailor the behaviour of the bike to the varying engine characteristics and outputs. The engineers designed the frame with precise longitudinal flex that helps absorb impacts from the rear wheel, working together with the suspension and giving the rider greater feedback. The torsional rigidity has been calibrated to maximise sharp handling, and thus magnifying the intrinsic characteristics of two-stroke motorcycles.

Subframe

The lightweight, three-piece polyamide rear subframe has been reinforced with an additional screw on the airbox side that improves the fitment between the left subframe arm and the airbox. The improved seal guarantees better performance and durability. The polyamide subframe is more flexible than a traditional aluminium rear subframe. Combined with the longitudinal flex of the frame and the rear linkage system, this gives riders a more comfortable and confidence-inspiring feeling on the bike, allowing them to push the limits in every condition and on any terrain. The inherent characteristics of the composite subframe allow the engineers to have unlimited opportunities of integrating features such as the airbox, electronics and rear grab handle.

Swingarm

Putting 2-stroke power to the ground can be tricky in certain conditions, so the engineers developed a single-piece cast swingarm that optmises traction even on the most difficult Enduro terrain. The flex characteristics feed precise information to the rider, instilling confidence and improving overall performance. Strong but light, the beautifully styled aluminium cast swingarm provides perfect stability and safety.

Brakes

The Black DID rims shod with Michelin Enduro Competition tyres are kept firmly under control thanks to maximum feeling in extreme situations combined with amazing stopping power of the latest generation of Brembo brakes. Ergonomically perfect controls allow the rider to accurately gauge braking power to the 260mm and 220mm wave discs at the front and rear respectively.

Lightning Fast Handling:

Front Suspension

When you think 2-stroke, you think "lightning fast handling"! The WP suspension components have been developed with exactly the same thought. The 48mm WP 4CS front fork employs 4 chamber technology that reduces weight compared to a typical closed cartridge fork, while maintaining the same performance levels. It provides a decisive advantage in terms of responsiveness, constant damping precision and handling, that perfectly matches the mind blowing agility of a 2-stroke Enduro bike. Additionally, the 4CS fork is completely adjustable to different terrain and conditions by simply twisting the dials on the top of the forks for rebound and compression damping settings.

Rear Suspension

The high performance DCC (Dual Compression Control) rear shock by WP is completely adjustable for rebound and high/low speed compression damping. The accurate construction and high quality components of the shock guarantee excellent and consistent damping characteristics over time.

Rear Link

The Husqvarna linkage system has excellent characteristics in fast and flowing sections, and excels on steep downhills. It offers great rider comfort in all situations and has great progressiveness in extremely rocky and bumpy sections. The versatile Husqvarna linkage system is sure to meet the need of riders of all levels, with a consistent, confidence-inspiring and light feeling chassis in every situation.

CNC Machined Triple Clamps

The black anodised CNC machined triple clamps have been revised for MY15. The bottom clamp has been redesigned in order to mount the same front fender as the Motocross models, providing improved stability and mounting of the front fender. The stylish triple clamps combine looks with function and deliver maximum feedback to the rider under braking, in rough terrain and on jumps, relaying accurate information on the behaviour of the front end in every situation, increasing rider confidence. The R&D department’s efforts were focused on ensuring uniform clamping of the fork legs in order to distribute the forces evenly, maintaining the leg shape, and thus proper damping along the entire stroke.

A Perfect Match:

Ergonomics

A new front mask on the MY15 Enduro bikes evolves the Husqvarna look and houses a new front headlamp. The front fender is also new and is the same as the Motocross fender, for easier mounting. The slim and stylish lines of the side panels and radiator shrouds allow for optimal movement while riding, resulting in superior control, and faster and safer riding.

Equipment

A complete range of accessories in the Husky Power catalogue complements the high quality standard equipment present on the TE 250.

Seat

The harder and more durable seat cover improves grip and also gives the seat a firmer feel, improving comfort and feeling.

Handguards

The handguards now feature a new improved compound of the two-component mould for better impact resistance.
