The ZZR600 sets the standard for practical middleweight performance while offering class-leading comfort and cutting edge style. Well on its way to legend status, this modern sportbike has earned a healthy respect from the motorcycling public and finicky motojournalists alike, thanks to its excellent overall balance and scintillating performance. The ZZR600 is powered by a 599cc, liquid-cooled, inline, four-cylinder engine with dual overhead cams and four valves per cylinder. Kawasaki’s Twin Ram Air Induction system, which features a leading-edge air scoop at the front of the bike’s fairing, forces cool air into the ZZR600’s airbox and then onto its four 36mm carburetors. The carburetors also feature the Kawasaki Throttle Responsive Ignition Control (K-TRIC), which monitors the throttle position and adjusts ignition timing for the engine’s four spark-plug mounted ignition coils, maximizing the ZZR’s performance at every rpm. The high-tech engine is matched to a close-ratio six-speed transmission, providing the ZZR600 rider with the best gear for any riding situation, whether it’s freeway droning or handling some back road twisties. A lightweight aluminum perimeter frame provides the backbone of the ZZR600’s chassis, while suspension duties are handled by a fully adjustable 46mm cartridge-type front fork and fully adjustable UNI-TRAK® rear suspension. Stopping power is provided by six-piston calipers gripping dual 300mm semi-floating front disc brakes, matched by a 220mm rear disc brake. The ZZR600 is shod with high-performance radial tires mounted on 17-inch aluminum wheels. The 120/65ZR17 front and 180/55ZR17 rear tires provide maximum traction and help provide a smooth ride over bumpy surface streets and freeway expansion joints. The simple, sleek lines of the ZZR600’s aerodynamic bodywork are distinctly Kawasaki in appearance, striking an elegant-but-athletic balance with its aluminum frame, angled front fairing, performance-enhancing air scoop and three-spoke wheels. Plus, the ZZR600 makes long-distance rides a pleasure with a stepped flat seat, bars that are easy to reach and wide mirrors that provide an exceptional view. The instrument cluster for the ZZR600 is entirely electronic and includes a speedometer, tachometer, coolant temperature gauge, odometer, trip meter and – one of the most desirable of features – a digital clock. ---- Features599cc Four-Cylinder DOHC Engine

26 comments: Kawasaki ZZR600I have 2007 ZZr600 and 10.2 1/4 mile is not true on stock bike. With a few mods and a great rider it might be possible. A friend of mine has a 2006 ZZr600 (same Bike) and he runs 11.3 - 11.5 all day on his (pipe only mod.) Adam Im still laughing at the 177 mph top speed claim. The 10.2 quarter mile time is literally a joke considering a zx900RR would have a hell of a time making those numbers at the track.
I watched a piped 2006 GSXR750 run a 10.767 and he had a hell of a time to get the bike to do that. His other times were HIGHER, and this guy knows the track and how to slip off the line.
You guys are foolish if you believe a zzr6 will pull 10.2 second quarter mile time. IT WILL NOT! And IT WILL NOT DO 177 mph either. Where are these idiots getting this from? My 1996 rf600r will literally smoke a zzr6. A zzr6 will do roughly a 11.7- 12.2 quarter mile time AND THIS IS WITH A RIDER WHO KNOWS WHAT THE HELL HE’S DOING and not with squids like you guys. No way will it do a 10.2. This post was a joke. Especially the guy who claimed 177mph on a zzr6. LMAO B-Siggies writes : just bought the 2007 ZZR 600 last week. its amazing, i went straight to the highway and got it up to 177 mph. this thing will put a smile on your face right away man...i promise you that. Just the fact that you have a Busa and you’re acting like a y already?? Well, I’ll let you have 1 car lenght in your Busa VS my ZX14R. You probably don’t even have a Busa to begin with.
The 05-07 ZZR 600 is virtually identical to the 00-02 ZX6R the last carbed Kawa 600. Those were good bikes so that makes the ZZR a hell of a bargain. I’ve got a 05 with a full Muzzy Ex. and jet kit and it will hang with the best of them. As far as the above comment the Busa any race anytime no sh?? Shirlock lets compare apples and coal. Oh lets get you in the curves and see who comes ahead......................
I have a 2002 gsxr 750 and a 2006 huyabusa and i will smoke your zzr any day of the week in any kind of race!! I just rode a zzr that my friend has a little bit ago after reading your posts and it is weak...95 hp...come on!
I think the ZZR600 is absolutley the best bike for the money. The quality that was put into the bike is perfect!
I jetted my carbs and added a Yoshimura to my zzr600... Two days later a petite woman on a Huyabasa wanted to have a red light derby downtown! I kicked her until we got on the interstate...around 155mph she walked on me...i think my bike can kill any gsxr600/650 in the quarter!!!
