Meet the 2013 KTM 300 XCW – a rugged motorcycle that can deal effortless with anything you throw at it.

The 2013 KTM 300 XCW was especially developed to be able to withstand the punishments and in its off road adventures is helped by a 1-cylinder 2-stroke, water-cooled, 293 cc engine with reed intake and exhaust control. The engine is paired with a six speed transmission with multidisc clutch and is fed by a 10 liters fuel tank. It is mounted on a light and stiff central tube frame made of chrome molybdenum steel tubing.

The frame sits on a set of high quality, cnc-machined hubs with black coated spokes for increased corrosion resistance. The rims are shod in Dunlop Geomax mx51 tires that further improve the motorcycle’s off road capabilities.

Overview

The ktm 300 xc-w is renowned for its massive 2-stroke performance and torque. The revolutionary ktm dds clutch feels fantastically light and smooth. This machine is equipped with the same technical features as its 250cc brother. Its tried and tested chassis is tailor-made for extremely tough tracks. It carries on where others climb off.

New airbox

The redesigned airbox on the 2013 300 xc-w allows maximum air to pass through, but minimal dust and spray. Replacement of the twin-air filter takes approx. 15 seconds, without any tools. Absolutely "ready to race".

New cylinder head

Ktm 2-stroke technology is updated and refined year after year. The newly developed cylinder head delivers smooth and responsive power. At the same time, new jets tuned to the modified cylinder head ensure better rideability. Power-valve exhaust control, 6-speed transmission and electric starter are a tried and tested ktm standard for 250/300 cm³ (250/300 cu in). From my 2013, for the ktm 300 xc-w as well!

Additional electric-starter

The ktm 300 xc-w is equipped with both kick and electric-starters in 2013. This simplifies starting the bike in all situations. With its patented placement in a longitudinal direction above the ignition, the compact starter system is optimally protected and provides a decisive advantage in hard offroad use.

Adjustable ignition curve

By opening and closing a plug connection, the choice can be made in 2013 between the standard ignition curve and a softer version. Those who prefer even greater convenience can buy a switch for the ktm 300 xc-w from the powerparts range.

Linear power development

Plenty of power from the bottom up and controllable rideability throughout the rev range. The response of the exhaust control system can be individually tuned by means of different springs. This way, everyone can very easily vary the power development of their xc-w (also combinable with the two ignition curves) between "soft" and "aggressive" in a matter of seconds. And the new reed valve block on the 2013 300 xc-w delivers perceptibly better acceleration and more homogeneous power development.

Individual suspension setting

The ktm 300 xc-w has its own individual suspension setting in my 2013, optimally tuned to weight and engine. At the rear, a pds shock absorber from wp suspension works with a direct linkage to the upper side of the swingarm. The wide range of setting options for rebound damping and high- and low-speed compression damping are standard on ktm bikes.

High quality wheels

High quality, cnc-machined hubs are standard on all ktm wheels. The now black coated spokes increase corrosion resistance and center the new, extremely stable, 7050 aluminum rims from giant. Dunlop geomax mx51 tires - provide excellent traction, very precise directional control and a long service life.

Bodywork

The 300 xc-w model has bodywork with extremely slim ergonomics and excellent contact points between rider and machine. It provides unlimited freedom of movement. Newly styled graphics give the models a fresher appearance in 2013.

Handlebar

Tapered, extremely stable aluminum handlebars from neken are standard equipment on the 2013 enduro bikes. For the 2013 model year, new 2-component grips with ktm logo deliver excellent feeling and improved grip.

Engine power and weight

The understandable technology of the two-stroke engine has indisputable advantages, including a high power/displacement ratio and low weight. In terms of power-to-weight ratio, the 2013 300 xc-w is practically unbeatable. Unrivalled performance and playful handling are the results.
