The compact KTM 50 SX weighs only 40 kg and is aimed at the young riders. The motorcycle is perfect for all riders up to height of 1.30 m and offers a comfortable riding position and perfect ergonomics.
It is powered by a modern, extremely compact, 2-stroke engine combined with a newly developed automatic clutch. Thanks to the 3-shaft concept, the crankshaft in the KTM engine is closer to the bike’s centre of gravity, a layout that improves the motorcycle’s stability at high speeds.
The Adjustable Automatic Transmission can be quickly and easily adjusted to the specific requirements of both track and rider using the "KTM clicker system".
The ride is kept in check by a high quality, upside-down front fork from WP Suspension, with 35 mm diameter outer tubes and 185 mm suspension travel. Out back, there is a WP shock absorber hinged directly to the swingarm.

Overview
A real KTM for the smallest of future MX champions from the age of three or four years. The 40 kg, lightweight 2013 KTM 50 SX sets standards in terms of safety, controllability and riding fun. It has everything that impresses riders up to height of 1.30 m and reassures their parents: a high-quality chassis with easily applied disc brakes, top-quality components wherever you look, a powerful, reliable engine with easy-to-operate centrifugal clutch.
Brakes
Both at the front and rear, optimally dimensioned disc brakes from FORMULA ensure the best possible deceleration on the 2013 KTM 50 SX. The exclusive, self-cleaning Wave brake discs stand for the ultimate in race technology and outstanding safety.
Water Cooling
The KTM 50 SX's liquid-cooling system, with two large radiators and additional cooling for the crankcase, prevents the engine overheating, even under the most extreme loads. Besides that, the smallest KTM can still take a fair bit of punishment - from enemy contact to contact with the ground.
Engine
The modern, extremely compact, 2-stroke engine clearly sets the benchmark in its class with its very controllable power. Equipped with a newly developed automatic clutch, the KTM 50 SX 2013 even easier to master. Thanks to the 3-shaft concept, the crankshaft in the KTM engine is closer to the bike's centre of gravity, which not only benefits the handling; it also allows a flatter and thus flow-optimised inflow angle of the intake membrane for maximum performance.
Optional Restrictor Kit
To enable adaptation of the race-ready performance of the KTM 50 SX 2013 to the needs of the youngest beginners as well, a power-reduction kit is available from the PowerParts range, with which the engine can be restricted to a moderate 5.5 hp.
Adjustable Automatic Transmission
The new, centrifugally controlled, multi-disc automatic clutch makes riding the KTM 50 SX 2013 the easiest thing in the world. Completely redesigned by KTM, the 50 gram lighter clutch delivers significantly improved and more controllable acceleration. Furthermore, it can still be quickly and easily adjusted to the specific requirements of both track and rider using the "KTM clicker system" - in a matter of seconds and with no special tools required.
WP Chassis
The high quality, upside-down front fork from WP Suspension, with 35 mm diameter outer tubes and 185 mm suspension travel, provides excellent ride stability and guarantees optimum damping properties and supreme responsiveness. At the rear wheel, a WP shock absorber hinged directly to the swingarm also supplies 205 mm suspension travel and excels with superior and reliable damping, even on the highest of jumps.
