The KTM 505 SX has a lot to love. It features a strong personality, a powerful engine and is also reliable to the core. All these features make one of the most capable ATVs in its class.
At the heart of the ATV lies a powerful, liquid-cooled four-stroke, single-cylinder engine, which offers a wide usable rev range, and is paired with a close-ratio, five-speed transmission. The engine is kept in check by a hydraulic clutch and breaths through a 34 mm Keihin carburettor. The four stroke unit is brought to life by a small lightweight electric which does a brilliant job at any time.

In conjunction with low vehicle weight and the low centre of gravity, the powerful DOHC racing engine ensures exceptional performance on every track.
The 505 SX’s liquid-cooled, DOHC, four-stroke, single-cylinder engine brings its sensational power to bear on the rear wheels via a hydraulic clutch and close-ratio five-speed transmission. The powerful single makes light of the MX quad’s extremely low weight - and hence the same of the competition.
The basis for the unrivalled low weight of the 505 SX of only 165 kg is the extremely light, but exceptionally robust frame made from high-strength, powder-coated chrome-molybdenum steel with bolted on light-alloy rear end and double-butted rear axle made from high-strength steel.
Tough MX race use demands top-quality brakes. At the front of the 505 SX, four-piston fixed-caliper brakes from Magura, unique in the ATV world, bite hard into two huge wave discs. Braided steel brake lines all round also come as standard.

FRONT-AXLE CAMBER AND CASTER, REAR-AXLE TRACK, SUSPENSION COMPONENTS
Camber and caster on the front axle of the 505 SX are just as variable as the track on the rear. Not only the spring preload plus compression and rebound damping are adjustable on the shock absorbers, they also feature separate high-speed and low-speed settings for the compression stage.
