2013 KTM 525 XC

Posted on by

The KTM 525 XC was design for the savage terrains, but the vehicle is also perfectly suited for public roads.

As far as design goes, the KTM 525 XC comes with a sharp-cut style and we especially like the sharp nose, the sculpted seat and the sporty-looking front suspensions. Talking about suspensions, the KTM 525 XC rides on front independent wheels suspensions with double wishbone (275 mm travel) and a rear rigid axle (272 mm travel).

The 525 XC weighs only 163 kg and sports a strong, liquid-cooled four-stroke, single-cylinder engine, which features an extremely wide usable rev range. The engine’s power is sent to the wheels through a close-ratio, five-speed transmission which is paired with a hydraulic clutch.

The KTM 525 XC’s stopping power is assured by front four-piston fixed-caliper brakes from Magura, which bite into two huge wave discs.

ELECTRIC STARTER

KTM 525 XC

The 525 XC’s small lightweight electric starter activates the four-stroke single cylinder reliably and quickly - for example, when tether switch attached to the rider has disconnected the ignition circuit, because things have become too hectic in the race again.

The 525 XC’s chassis can be set for various types of use and different types of course. Camber and caster on the front axle are just as variable as the track on the rear. On the shock absorbers, the compression and rebound damping are adjustable, as well as the spring preload.
