Kymco is especially known for its small displacement motorcycles and efficient scoters. The company’s lineup of scooters includes a wide range of engine displacements starting from 50 cc and finishing with 700 cc units.

Somewhere in the middle, you’ll find the new 2013 Kymco Xciting 400i which is a sporty scooter designed for those who want an efficient, spacious and fast two wheel partner.

It is propelled by a 4 stroke, 399 cc, single cylinder engine that cranks out a maximum power of 26.5 kw at 7000 rpm and 37 Nm of torque at 6000 rpm. The engine needs to deal with a total weight of 193 kg and its power is controlled by a CVT automatic transmission.

The scooter’s frame features a dual under-bone design which makes gives you better stability at high speeds, reduces vibration and also improves handling.

The 2013 Kymco Xciting 400i rides on 120/70-15" front and 150/70-14" rear tyres. The stopping power is handled by dual front discs and single rear disc brakes.

Verdict

Kymco Xciting 400i

The 2013 Kymco Xciting 400i goes head to head with the Yamaha X-MAX 400. The 2013 versions is a huge evolution over the previous generation and comes with a sharp style, first class ergonomics and a lively new engine.

Compared to the old generation the 2013 model is 20 kg lighter so you can expect to a better acceleration. For the faster acceleration we also have to give credit to the all-new engine that cranks out significantly more power than the old unit. The new unit is also pretty efficient and with a full fuel tank (12.5 liters) you should be able to ride about 300 kilometers without refueling.

As far as the stopping power is concerned, the Xciting 400i rewards you with a crisp response from its disc brakes which are also assisted by a modern ABS system.
The 2013 model is not only more technologically advanced than the previous version, but is also a bit cheaper as it can be yours for no less than € 5.999.
