2013 Moto Guzzi V7 Special Edition

Posted on by

The Moto Guzzi V7 Special edition is a classic tourer inspired by the old 1974 Moto Guzzi 750S that was the first big Italian motorcycle launched on the motorcycle market. This special model can be easily recognized after its gloss black paint and classic orange racing stripe.

The V7 Special Edition is propelled by a new 750cc, 90° V-twin engine that cranks out a maximum output of 50HP at 6,200 rpm and 58Nm of torque at 5,000 rpm.

The engine is linked to a five speeds transmission with cardan final drive and is fed by a 22 liters fuel tank.

The stopping power is assured by a front 320 mm stainless steel disc paired with a Brembo caliper with 4 differentiated pistons and a rear 260 mm stainless steel disc grabbed by a Brembo double piston floating caliper.

Looking for classic retro style with the guts and go-for-it attitude to do some touring, too? The Moto Guzzi V7 Special EICMA 2013 is your mount. Who says you need a big motorcycle to reach far-away places? On this classic, all you need are big dreams-and a wrist that’s ready to roll. The V7 Special EICMA 2013 features the new 750cc, 90° V-twin engine that is more powerful and stays true to the characteristics of the Moto Guzzi tradition, that touring on a motorcycle at its most pure should be nothing but enjoyable.

The Bike

Moto Guzzi V7 Special Edition

The V7 Special EICMA 2013 is the closest of the V7 range to the original V7 concept of the 1970s, not only due to its shared name with the first V7 designed by Lino Tonti, but because it faithfully invokes the same riding philosophy. It is a touring bike with sophisticated finishings and exclusive technical solutions. Just like its ancestor, it is wrapped in a two-tone color concept and equipped with spoked wheels with aluminium rims.

Featuring a newly engineered and more powerful, 750cc, 90-degree V-Twin motor, the V7 Special EICMA 2013 is perfectly suited for medium range touring. While maintaining the classic 90° V configuration, the new engine is now comprised of more than 70% new components. Cutting-edge technological parts have been included to improve functionality, provide greater torque and power even at low rpms, and be more efficient, with higher fuel economy and reduced emissions.

The new tank brings with it a superior metal construction that allows for a lighter tank along with a greater fuel capacity – the V7 Special EICMA 2013 can hold a record 5.8 gallons which, together with reduced consumption, ensures a range of up to 310 miles. This is further proof of the design philosophy that has guided the entire V7 family: engineering innovation is always intended to restore pleasure to the rider of gripping a real, resounding metal tank in true Moto Guzzi tradition. The V7 Special EICMA 2013 provides a flagship riding range, a role which it can take on further when equipped with bags and windshield accessories that complement the overall design of the V7 Special EICMA 2013.

The rest of the V7 Special EICMA 2013 design confirms the alchemy of tradition and modernism that was introduced in 2008 with the first V7 Classic. New lightweight, aluminum wheels allow for a reduction in weight at the front and rear, translating to greater agility on the road and cruising through turns. With the graphic design, particular attention has been paid to the detail across the motorcycle, including the two-tone paintwork which harkens back to the V7 model that inspired it all.

The Moto Guzzi V7 Special EICMA 2013 will be available in U.S. dealerships.

As with all of Moto Guzzi’s on-road motorcycles, the V7 Special EICMA 2013 comes with a two-year manufacturer’s warranty and roadside assistance for one year.

An evolution that respects tradition

This is the closest to the original V7 concept, not only because it shares its name with the first V7 signed by Lino Tonti, but because if faithfully cites the same riding philosophy, that of a touring bike with sophisticated finishings and exclusive technical solutions.
In 1967 the first big Italian motorcycle appeared on the motorcycle market: the Moto Guzzi V7. Now forty-three years later, for a limited time it will appear in the Australian market with lots of exciting extras.
When the V7 was first released in 1967, it was an immediate success and with its success came a worldwide admiration for the Moto Guzzi brand. Forty years later with youthful memories Moto Guzzi designers set about re designing the V7, the result a motorcycle that hails the style of the original V7 but with all the modern technology that the legendary ancestor could never have.
