You know what you’re looking for in a standard V-twin machine: light and agile handling, along with willing-and-able engine performance. And that’s what the Suzuki SV650 delivers - in spades.
Recently named as Cycle World magazine’s Best Standard Motorcycle and Motorcyclist magazine’s Best Bang for the Buck, the Suzuki SV650 offers its own unique styling and performance. Compared to the SV650S, it has a leaner profile, featuring a single round headlight, tubular handlebars and a more upright riding position.
One ride on the SV650 and you’ll be hooked. It combines crisp, lightweight handling with all-day riding comfort. And the thrills really begin when you tap into its exceptional engine performance. Its fuel-injected V-twin powerplant offers crisp throttle response, strong torque and a stunningly wide powerband.
So get on a new 2006 Suzuki SV650 - and enjoy a ride you’ll never forget.

This bike has been perfectly reliable and is great fun to ride. It is an easy bike to handle with a good riding position. Not outright Sports position, nor bolt upright, but slightly leaning forward. No pain on wrists experienced, or on back.
The v-twin motor provides ample torque, giving a large degree of choice when it comes to gear selection for turns. At legal speeds you can ride through a twisty road in 6th gear safely, though 4th gear might be more fun on the corner exits.
From 0-60mph, the bike is a rocketship. A roll-on in any gear is also quite fast given the available torque across the powerband.
Top speed isn’t stratospheric, though it’s plenty high enough to get you a ride in the back seat of a Highway Patrol car.
Fast because of light weight, flexible bullet proof engine, great looking, sounds good, nice handling, very chuckable. Overall , the Suzuki SV650 is a fantastic first bike, especially when considering the very low price and the cheap insurance.
