The most significant upgrades were made to the engine which now offers better overall performances and is also significantly smoother. The revamped 249cc, 4-stroke, liquid-cooled, single cylinder, DOHC unit is kept check by a 5-speed constant mesh which is also new offering a smoother feel and more precise shifts.

The motorcycle is built on a lightweight and rigid twin-spar aluminum-alloy frame which is combined with a set of capable suspensions.
